장애 영유아를 위한 부모 참여 중재 연구의 동향 및 WWC 평가 지표에 의한 분석

국문 초록

본 연구에서는 국내외에서 이루어진 장애 영유아를 위한 부모 참여 중재 단일대상 연구의 최근 동향을 분석하고 연구방법의 질적 수준과 증거 강도의 크기를 평가하였으며, 이를 기초로 영유아 특수교육 분야에서 부모 참여 중재의 연구 방향성을 제시하고자 하였다. 이를 위하여 2000년 이후에 발표된 논문을 체계적으로 검색하여 논문 선정 및 제외 기준에 맞는 총 34편의 연구 논문을 선정하였다. 최종 선정된 논문은 발표 연도 및 연구 출처, 연구 대상, 중재 장소, 독립변인, 종속변인, 부모 훈련 프로그램 내용, 중재 충실도, WWC(What Works Clearinghouse) 평가 기준에 따라 분석되었다. 연구 결과 장애 영유아를 위한 부모 참여 중재는 대부분 자폐 영유아를 대상으로 가정에서 이루어졌다. 그리고 독립변인으로 기능에 기초한 중재를 가장 많이 실행하고 있었으며 영유아의 성과로 문제행동, 사회성, 의사소통 측면을 많이 살펴본 것으로 나타났다. 그리고 실행에 기초한 피드백 제공하기 및 시범 보이기 방법을 활용하여 개별적 형태의 부모 훈련 프로그램을 실시한 경우가 많았으며 부모 훈련에 대한 충실도는 매우 제한적으로 점검되었다. 또한 부모가 실시한 중재의 충실도를 언급한 논문은 많았으나 WWC 기준을 만족한 논문은 34편 중 2편에 지나지 않는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 분석 결과를 통하여 국내외 장애 영유아를 위한 부모 참여 단일대상 연구의 최근 동향과 연구 방법의 질적 수준과 증거 강도 크기를 파악하였고 향후 연구 방향성을 논의에서 제안하였다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to examine research trends in parent-implemented interventions in early intervention/early childhood special education(EI/ECSE) fields and to analyze them through the WWC standards. Based on the obtained results, this study proposes future directions for parent-implemented studies in the field of early intervention/early childhood special education. For this purpose, journal articles were systematically searched via research databases, and a total of 34 studies were selected based on inclusion and exclusion criteria. The studies were analyzed in terms of publication year and source, participants, setting, intervention types, outcomes, parent training program, treatment fidelity, and the WWC standards. The results revealed that parent-implemented studies for young children with disabilities were mostly conducted for young children with autism at home. Also, the most widely researched independent variable was identified as function-based intervention, and problem behaviors and social and communicative outcomes were identified as frequently studied dependent variables. However, most studies did not report the implementation fidelity for parent training programs. In addition, parent training programs were usually conducted individually and methods such as performance-based feedback and modeling were generally used. Although most studies mentioned and reported treatment fidelity, only two studies met the WWC standards. Based on these results, the research trends in parent-implemented interventions for young children with disabilities were recognized, and suggestions for further directions for parent-implemented studies in EI/ECSE were presented in the discussion section.
