영문 초록

This paper investigates the definition and the range of complements in Korean. And it investigates interrelationship between the complement case category, subject case category and obligatory adverb case category in Korean. And it aims to formulate the Case Information Processing of Complement Case. This paper suggests the Case Information Processing System consist of a Morphological Case Information Processing and a Semantic Case Information Processing. And this Case Information Processing System applies to Korean inflectional form: ‘i/ka’, eun/neun. Complement category in Korean has clear characteristics in many ways. From an morphological point of view, it is not easy to distinguish the complement case from subject case. From an semantic point of view, there is not always a clear-cut distinction between the complement case and obligatory adverb case. In this respect, appropriate criterion of complements is required. This criterion facilitates more efficient Natural Language Processing and makes it possible to keep the ‘One instance per clause principle.’
