영문 초록

This study analyzed the categorical perception patterns of Korean consonants with pitch (F0) adjusted for Korean and Chinese listeners. One of the many reasons why foreign speakers find Korean sounds difficult is that the role of acoustic cues to recognize phonemes is different for each language. The difference in these phonetic cues makes categorical perception, the area of perceiving phonemes, appear differently for each language. Against this background, this study conducted an experiment by adjusting the F0 of Korean introductory consonants in 30 Koreans and 30 Chinese subjects. As a result, significant results were found in the phoneme boundary between the two groups, the slope according to the change in pitch, and the difference between groups. Based on this, this study analyzed how the categorical perception of Korean plain sounds, which adjusted the phonetic cue (F0), appeared between Korean and Chinese listeners, respectively.
