부모소명이 취업모의 정서적 소진에 미치는 영향: 가정요구와 시간-기반 갈등의 이중매개 효과를 중심으로

국문 초록

본 연구는 취업모가 일과 가정에서 수행하는 역할로 인해 경험하는 시간 부족과 역할 갈등이 정서적 소진으로 이어지는 과정을 부모소명의 관점에서 검증하고자 하였다. 구체적으로, 부모 소명이 취업모의 정서적 소진에 영향을 미치는지, 이 경로에서 가정요구와 시간-기반 갈등이 각각 매개하는지와 이 두 변인이 이중 매개 효과를 갖는지 살펴보았다. 국내 취업모를 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하여 부모소명, 가정요구, 시간-기반 갈등, 정서적 소진을 측정하였다. 분석 결과, 부모소명이 정서적 소진에 직접적인 영향을 미치지는 않았으나 가정요구가 부모소명과 정서적 소진을 매개하였고, 시간-기반 갈등의 단독 매개효과는 나타나지 않았다. 그러나 가정요구와 시간-기반 갈등을 통한 이중 매개효과가 유의하게 나타났다. 이는 부모의 역할에 의미를 부여하며 살아가는 것 자체가 소진의 원인이 되는 것이 아니라, 가정에서 발생하는 시간적 요구와 관련된 현실적 갈등이 정서적 소진을 유발할 수 있음을 시사한다. 본 연구는 부모소명의 긍정적·부정적 양면성과 취업모가 경험하는 구조적 현실을 동시에 이해할 수 있는 실증적 근거를 제공한다는 점에서 의의가 있다.

영문 초록

This study aimed to explore how working mothers experience time constraints and role conflict arising from their dual responsibilities in work and family, which in turn lead to emotional exhaustion, focusing on the role of parental calling. It examined whether parental calling influences emotional exhaustion among working mothers, whether this relationship is mediated by family demands and time-based conflict, and whether a sequential double-mediation effect occurs through these two variables. The participants were employed mothers in South Korea. Data were collected through surveys measuring parental calling, family demands, time-based conflict, and emotional exhaustion. The findings revealed that parental calling did not directly affect emotional exhaustion. However, family demands mediated the relationship between parental calling and emotional exhaustion, whereas time-based conflict alone did not. Nevertheless, a significant double mediation effect of family demands and time-based conflict was observed. These findings suggest that parental calling may serve as a psychological resource while simultaneously contributing to emotional exhaustion when mothers encounter time-related conflicts arising from family demands. Therefore, this study provides empirical evidence for understanding the dual effects of parental calling and the structural challenges faced by working mothers.
