잠재프로파일 분석을 활용한 저소득 청년이 인지하는 고용장벽의 유형화

국문 초록

본 연구는 저소득 청년들이 경험하는 다층적인 고용 장벽을 유형화하고, 발견된 고용 장벽 유형을 바탕으로 향후 저소득 청년들의 자립 지원 방안을 모색하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 이를 위해 잠재프로파일 분석을 실시하였으며, 청년내일저축계좌 3차 패널 중 중위소득 50% 이하 1,564명의 자료를 활용하였다. 분석 결과, ‘인적자본취약형’은 고용 장벽 인지 정도가 전반적으로 가장 낮으나 인적자본을 가장 높은 고용 장벽으로 인지하는 유형이 38.61%로 나타났다. 다음으로, ‘구조적장벽취약형’은 인적자본, 구직 및 취업 관련 어려움, 돌봄부담 등 구조적 장벽 요소를 고용 장벽으로 인지하는 수준이 상대적으로 높은 유형으로 가장 많은 45.52%가 이 유형에 속한다. 마지막으로 ‘개인적·구조적장벽 복합취약형’은 구조적 장벽과 함께 통제력 결여, 관계상의 어려움, 건강 문제 등 개인적 장벽도 높은 수준으로 장벽으로 인지하는 집단 유형으로 전체의 15.86%가 이 집단에 속하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 저소득 청년 대상 자립 지원은 기본적으로 인적자본 강화, 노동시장 개선 및 접근성 완화, 돌봄부담 완화 등 구조적 차원에서 접근되어야 함 등의 시사점을 제공한다.

영문 초록

This study investigates the multidimensional employment barriers perceived by low-income youth and offers implications for support strategies aimed at enhancing their self-sufficiency. Using data from the third wave of the Youth Tomorrow Savings Account panel survey, a latent profile analysis was conducted on 1,564 individuals with household incomes below 50% of the national median, including recipients of the National Basic Livelihood Security Program and those classified as near-poor. The analysis revealed three distinct profiles of perceived employment barriers. The first group, labeled the human capital–vulnerable type (38.61%), reported the lowest overall perception of barriers but emphasized deficits in education, skills, and work experience. The second, the structural barriers–vulnerable type(45.52%), constituted the largest group, facing significant obstacles related to labor market access, job search, and caregiving. The third group, the combined personal and structural barriers–vulnerable type (15.86%), experienced high levels of both structural and personal challenges, including limited control, family relationship difficulties, and physical or mental health problems. These findings suggest that structural barriers represent the most pressing challenges for low-income youth, while a subset faces additional constraints from personal vulnerabilities. The study underscores the importance of targeted policy interventions that strengthen human capital, enhance labor market opportunities, and alleviate caregiving burdens through structural reforms.
