토픽모델링을 활용한 교사의 정치적 기본권 관련 언론보도 분석

국문 초록

본 연구는 교사의 정치적 기본권 관련 언론보도 기사를 분석함으로써, 관련 담론의 형성과 변화 과정을 통시적으로 살펴보고 시기별 주요 쟁점이 무엇인지 확인하는 데 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 한국언론진흥재단의 빅카인즈(Bigkinds)에서 1990년 1월 1일부터 2024년 11월 5일까지 교사의 정치적 기본권을 주제로 생산된 기사 3,499개를 수집하였으며, 선별과정을 거쳐 1,621개 기사를 최종적으로 분석하였다. 분석에는 텍스트 마이닝과 토픽 모델링 기법을 활용하였다. 분석 결과, 첫째, 교사의 정치적 기본권에 대한 관심도는 우상향하였으며, 이 때 대중이 관심을 갖는 키워드는 시기별로 상이하였다. 둘째, 교사의 정치적 기본권 관련 잠재된 토픽은 4개였으며, 토픽의 출현 확률은 년도별로 상이하였다. 이러한 결과는 교사의 정치적 기본권 관련 담론은 단일한 쟁점으로 수렴되지 않으며, 교사의 이중적 지위와 사회적 맥락에 따라 다양한 방식으로 구성되고 있음을 의미한다. 본 연구는 이를 바탕으로 교사의 정치적 기본권의 정책 결정 과정에 있어 주목해야하는 점 등을 제언하였다.

영문 초록

This study investigates the formation and transformation of discourse on teachers’ political rights by analyzing media coverage and identifying key issues across different periods. A t otal o f 3,49 9 a rticles related to t eachers’ p olitical rights, published between January 1, 1990, and November 5, 2024, were collected from Bigkinds, the database of the Korea Press Foundation. After a selection process, 1,621 articles were analyzed using text mining and topic modeling techniques. The analysis produced three main findings. First, public attention to teachers’ political rights has shown an upward trend, with the prominent keywords differing by period. Second, four latent topics were identified, and the probability of their occurrence varied across years. Third, these results indicate that discourse on teachers’ political rights does not converge into a single issue. Rather, it is shaped in multiple ways depending on teachers’ dual status and the broader social context. Based on these findings, this study highlights critical considerations for policy-making processes concerning teachers’ political rights and suggests directions for future education policy development.
