심리상담사 및 심리치료사의 공감에 대한 연구동향 - 1989년~2024년 한국논문을 중심으로 -

국문 초록

본 연구는 심리상담사 및 심리치료사 공감에 대한 연구동향을 분석하고, 향후 연구방향을 제시하는데 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 1989년부터 2024년까지 발표된 석․박사 학위논문과 학회지 논문 총 121개 논문을 대상으로 출판연도, 연구대상, 연구주제, 연구방법, 연구변인을 기준으로 문헌을 분석하였다. 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 출판연도별은 1989년에 1편으로 시작하여 점차 증가하는 추세로 꾸준하게 연구되었다. 둘째, 연구대상별은 심리상담사를 대상으로 한 연구가 87편(83.7%)으로 가장 많고, 심리치료사를 대상으로 한 연구는 적은 편이었다. 셋째, 연구주제별은 상담자 성격, 적응, 훈련 및 수퍼비전 주제 연구 67편(55.4%), 과정 및 성과연구 30편(24.8%), 이론 연구 13편(10.7%), 개관 연구 4편(3.3%), 성과연구 3편(0.8%), 과정연구 3편(0.8%) 순으로 나타났다. 넷째, 연 구방법별은 양적 연구가 86편(71.1%)으로 가장 많고, 이론 연구가 17편(14%), 질적 연구가 16편(13.2%), 혼합 연구가 2편(1.7%)으로 나타났다. 질적 연구 하위방법은 근거이론, 현상학, 합의적 질적(CQR), 질적분석, 내러티브, 사례연구 순으로 활용되었다. 다섯째, 양적 연구에서 연구변인을 분석한 결과, 상담자 변인은 소진, 내담자 변인은 상담성과, 상담자-내담자 상호관련 변인은 작업동맹이 가장 많이 연구되었다. 이러한 연구결과를 바탕으로 심리상담사 및 심리치료사 공감 연구에 대한 의의와 제한점에 대하여 논의하였다.

영문 초록

This study analyzed the research trends related to empathy among psychological counselors and psychotherapists, and suggested future research directions. For these purposes, the study examined 121 master's and doctoral dissertations and journal articles published from 1989 to 2024, based on the year of publication, and research object, topic, method, and variables. The results of the study were as follows: First, regarding publication year, there was only one published paper in 1989 and the number of article publishment was steadily increased over time. Second, regarding the research subjects, studies of 87 papers (83.7%) targeted psychological counselors, while studies focusing on psychotherapists were relatively fewer. Third, regarding the research topic, there were 67 studies (55.4%) about counselor personality, adaptation, training, and supervision; 30 studies (24.8%) about the process and outcome of research; 13 studies (10.7%) about research theory; 4 studies (3.3%) about study review; 3 studies (0.8%) about research outcome; and 3 studies (0.8%) about research process. Fourth, regarding the research method, 86 papers (71.1%) were about quantitative research, followed by theoretical research with 17 papers (14%), qualitative research with 16 papers (13.2%), and mixed research with 2 papers (1.7%). The qualitative research, of the sub-methods were theory, phenomenology, consensual qualitative research(CQR), qualitative analysis, narrative, and case studies, in that order. Fifth, after analyzing research variables of the quantitative research, the most studied variables were counselors‘s burnout, counseling outcomes for clients, and the working alliance as the interrelated variable between counselors and their clients. Based on these research findings, the significance and limitations of the study were discussed.
