유아교사의 언어통제유형에 따른 만 5세 유아의 언어표현력 및 자아존중감의 차이 분석

국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 유아교사의 언어통제유형에 따른 만 5세 유아의 언어표현력과 자아존중감의 차이를 분석하는 것이다. 경상북도 K시, P시에 소재한 유아교육기관의 만 5세 유아 236명과 236명의 담임 유아교사 43명이 연구대상이며, 연구기간은 2022년 7월 20일부터 9월 7일까지 총 6주간 동안 실시하였다. 유아교사에게는 언어통제유형 검사를 만 5세 유아에게는 언어표현력과, 자아존중감의 검사를 실시하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 유아교사의 언어통제유형에 따른 만 5세 유아의 언어표현력의 차이를 살펴본 결과, 유아교사의 언어통제유형이 인성적통제일 때 유아의 언어표현력이 가장 높았으며 지위적통제, 명령적통제의 순으로 나타났다. 둘째, 유아교사의 언어통제유형에 따른 만 5세 유아의 자아존중감의 차이를 살펴본 결과, 유아교사의 언어통제유형이 인성적통제일 때 유아의 자아존중감이 가장 높았으며 지위적통제, 명령적통제의 순으로 나타났다. 또한 유아교사가 인성적통제일 때 유아의 자아존중감의 하위항목 중 유능감, 소속감 등이 높게 나타났고 다. 명령적통제일 때 유능감이나 소속감이 가장 낮게 나타났다. 본 연구 결과 유아교사의 언어통제유형은 만 5세 유아의 언어표현력과 자아존중감 발달에 중요한 영향을 미치는 변인임을 교육적으로 시사하고 있다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to analyze the differences in language expression and self-esteem among 5-year-old children according to the language control type used by early childhood teachers. The subjects of the study were 236 5-year-old children and 43 homeroom teachers of 236 early childhood education institutions located in K City and P City, Gyeongsangbuk-do. The study was conducted for a total of 6 weeks from July 20 to September 7, 2022. The early childhood teachers were assessed for their language control type, and the 5-year-old children were evaluated for their language expression and self-esteem. The results of this study are as follows. First, as a result of examining the differences in the language expression ability of 5-year-old children according to the language control type of the early childhood teacher, the language expression ability of the children was the highest when the language control type of the early childhood teacher was personality control, followed by positional control and imperative control. Second, upon examining the difference in self-esteem among 5-year-old children according to the language control type of the early childhood teacher, the children’s self-esteem was highest when the language control type was personality-based control, followed by positional control and command control. Additionly, when the early childhood teacher exercised personality-based control, the sub-items of the children's self-esteem, such as competence and sense of belonging, were higher. When command control was high, competence and sense of belonging were the lowest. The results of this study suggest that the language control type of the early childhood teacher is a variable that has an important influence on the development of language expression and self-esteem of 5-year-old children.
