국문 초록

본 연구는 성인을 대상으로 하여 아동기 외상 경험과 비자살적 자해 경험에서 수치심과 경험회피의 매개효과를 확인하고자 하였다. 성인 1,137명을 대상으로 아동기 외상 척도, 수치심 척도, 경험회피 척도, 비자살적 자해 척도를 사용하여 수집된 자료를 SPSS 21.0과 Mplus 8.0 통계 프로그램을 통하여 `분석하였고, 본 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 아동기 외상 경험이 수치심을 매개로 비자살적 자해 경험에 미치는 영향은 유의하지 않았다. 둘째, 아동기 외상 경험이 경험회피를 매개로 비자살적 자해 경험에 영향을 미치는 간접효과가 유의미한 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 아동기 외상 경험이 수치심과 경험회피를 거쳐 비자살적 자해 경험으로 이어지는 이중 매개효과가 유의미한 것으로 나타났다. 이는 아동기 외상 수준이 높을수록 수치심과 경험회피 수준이 높음을 의미한다. 또한, 아동기 외상 수준이 높을수록, 경험회피가 높으며 비자살적 자해가 발생하게 됨을 의미한다. 이 결과들은 비자살적 자해에 대한 예방 및 개입에 있어 아동기 외상, 수치심, 경험회피를 종합적으로 고려해야 함을 시사한다. 이러한 연구결과를 바탕으로 본 연구의 의의 및 제한점을 제시하였다.

영문 초록

This study aimed to examine the mediating roles of shame and experiential avoidance in the relationship between childhood trauma and non-suicidal self-injury (NSSI) in a sample of adults. A total of 1,137 participants completed measures of the Childhood Trauma Scale, Shame Scale, Experiential Avoidance Scale, and Non-Suicidal Self-Injury Scale. Data were analyzed using SPSS 21.0 and Mplus 8.0. The results were as follows: First, the indirect effect of childhood trauma on NSSI through shame alone was not statistically significant. Second, experiential avoidance significantly mediated the relationship between childhood trauma and NSSI. Third, a significant serial mediation effect was observed, in which childhood trauma influenced NSSI through both shame and experiential avoidance. These findings indicate that individuals with higher levels of childhood trauma tend to experience greater shame and are more likely to engage in experiential avoidance. Additionally, increased experiential avoidance is associated with a greater likelihood of engaging in NSSI. These results suggest that prevention and intervention for non-suicidal self-injury should comprehensively consider childhood trauma, shame, and experiential avoidance. the implications and limitations of the studyare discussed.
