유치원 독립편성 종일제 학급의 독서교육 활성화에 따른 유아 및 부모의 반응

국문 초록

본 연구는 유치원 독립편성 종일제 학급의 독서교육 활성화 방안을 모색하여 실행하고 이에 따른 유아 및 부모의 반응을 살펴보는 것을 목적으로 한다. 이를 위해 서울시에 위치한 A사립유치원 독립편성 종일제 학급의 만 3-4세 유아 24명과 그들의 부모를 대상으로 독서교육을 실시하고 결과를 분석하였다. 본 연구의 결과를 살펴보면 첫째, 유치원 독립편성 종일제 학급의 독서교육 활성화를 위하여 유치원의 일상생활 및 교육과정과 연계한 독서교육, 가정과 연계한 독서교육으로 체계를 수립하고 그에 따른 활동을 구체적으로 마련하였다. 둘째, 유치원 독립편성 종일제 학급의 독서교육 활성화 방안에 따른 유아의 반응을 살펴보면 자발적인 책 읽기 행동으로의 변화, 책에 대한 상호작용과 적극성이 증가하였으며 다양한 책에 대한 관심과 흥미가 확대되었다. 부모들은 독서교육의 실천의지가 형성되었으며, 자녀와 상호작용이 활발해지고 유치원 독서교육에 대해 신뢰하게 된 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구는 유치원 방과후 과정의 독서교육 활성화를 위한 실질적인 방안을 제시하는데 그 의의가 있다.

영문 초록

The aims of this study were to search for and implement a reading education activation plan for independently organized all-day kindergarten classes and to examine young children"s and their parents" responses to it. To this end, reading education was given to 24 three- and four-year-olds enrolled in independently organized all-day classes at a private kindergarten in Seoul as well as to their parents, and this study analyzed the outcomes. The findings were as follows: first, a two-fold system was established combining reading education linked to daily life and the curriculums at the kindergarten and reading education linked to families and followed by specific activities for the activation of reading education in independently organized all-day kindergarten classes. Second, the study examined young children"s responses to the reading education activation plan for the independently organized all-day kindergarten classes and found that they changed to start voluntary reading, increased their interactions and drive for books, and expanded their concerns and interests for various books. In addition, their parents established a will to practice reading education, engaged in active interactions with their children, and came to trust the reading education provided by the kindergarten. The present study has significance by proposing a practical plan to activate reading education as an after-class kindergarten course.
