유아수학교육의 통합적 접근이 유아의 수학적 능력에 미치는 효과에 대한 메타분석

국문 초록

본 연구에서는 유아수학교육의 통합적 접근이 유아의 수학적 능력에 미치는 효과를 알아보기 위해 메타분석을 실시하였다. 이를 위해 2008년부터 2017년도 전반기까지 발표된 학술지게재 논문, 대학원 석사 및 박사학위 논문 총 60편을 분석대상으로 하여 유아수학교육의 통합적 접근이 유아의 수학적 능력에 미치는 효과를 분석하였다. 그 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 유아수학교육의 통합적 접근이 유아의 수학적 능력에 미치는 전체 효과크기는 1.34로 Cohen의 효과크기 기준으로 볼 때 매우 크다. 둘째, 유아수학교육의 통합적 접근이 유아의 수학능력에 미치는 효과는 통합유형에 따른 유의한 차이가 있었으나 연령, 처치횟수, 처치기간에 따른 유의한 차이는 나타나지 않았다. 본 연구의 결과 유아수학교육에 있어 통합적 접근이 효과적임이 밝혀졌으며 향후 유아수학교육의 통합적 접근이 나아가야 할 방향을 제시하였다.

영문 초록

The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of the integrated approach to early childhood mathematics education on young children’s mathematics ability. The relevant domestic studies that were conducted between 2008 and 2017 were analyzed and the subjects of meta-analysis for this study were 79 samples for the effect size from 60 papers.. The result showed the following: First, the overall effect size of the integrated approach to early childhood mathematics education on young children’s mathematical ability was 1.34, which indicated that they produced large effects. In other words, the integrated approach to early childhood mathematics education on young children’s mathematical ability is effective in improving the mathematical ability of infants. Second, the effect size of the integration activity with artistic area was 1.63 and the effect size of the integration activity with cognitive area was 1.17. In other words, integration with the artistic area is more effective in early childhood mathematics education. Third, to look at the causes that affect the size of the effect of the integrated approach to early childhood mathematics education on young children’s mathematical ability, the control variables about the type of group in the experiment, children’s age, the period of experiment treatment, and the number of experimental treatments were analyzed in this study. As a result, there was no significant difference. In conclusion, the integrated approach to early childhood mathematics education on young children’s mathematical ability is effective. Thus, an integrated approach should be used for the development of young children’s mathematical ability.
