표준보육과정 생활주제에 기초한 요리활동 과정이 만 2세 영아의 수학개념 발달에 미치는 영향

국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 표준보육과정 생활주제에 기초한 요리활동 과정이 만 2세 영아의 수학개념 형성에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지를 살펴보고자 함이다. 이를 위하여 연구대상은 경북 G시에 소재한 S어린이집 만 2세 영아 20명을 대상으로 'Piaget식 수학 개념 발달 검사'를 통해 집단을 임의로 10명씩 두 집단(실험·통제)으로 선정하였다. 실험집단은 8주간 1주일에 2회씩 총16회 요리활동을 실시하였고 통제집단은 자유놀이를 실시하였다. 실험집단의 수학개념 형성과정은 어떠한지를 살펴보기 위하여 16회의 요리활동을 비디오로 녹화하여 질적 분석하였고, 두 집단의 사전·사후 검사 결과의 차이를 살펴보기 위하여 비모수 검증인 Mann-Whitney U 검증을 실시하였다. 연구결과, 첫째, 요리활동은 만 2세 영아의 수학개념 및 수학개념의 하위요인에 분류, 서열, 수, 공간, 측정개념 향상에 효과적이었다. 둘째, 요리활동 과정 속에서 만 2세 영아들은 수학적 기회를 가졌다. 따라서 표준보육과정의 생활주제에 기초한 요리활동은 만 2세 영아의 수학개념 발달에 효과적인 프로그램임을 알 수 있었다.

영문 초록

The purpose of the present study was to assess the effects of cooking activities on mathematical concepts. The subjects of the study were 20 two year old toddlers at S Nursery located in G City, Gyeongbuk. The test tool, 'Piaget style mathematical concept development test tool' that was based on the task used by Piaget to measure mathematical concept was used in this study. Using the matching, that is the method of grouping and assigning, the subjects were separated two groups (the experimental group, the control group) consisting of ten members each. The experimental group conducted cooking activities twice per week for eight weeks for a total of 16 sessions. The control group participated in free spontaneous play. Also, to assess the process of forming toddlers' mathematical concepts, video that recorded cooking activities for 16 sessions was analyzed, and to assess the difference between pre and post results of two groups, Mann-whitney U test was conducted. The research results showed that first, cooking activities had an effect on improving the mathematical concept of children, as well as on improving the sub-factors of categorization, rank, number, space and measurement. Second, in the process of cooking activities, toddlers' mathematical concepts were improved. Accordingly, it was found that participating in cooking activities is an effective method to enhance the mathematical concept for toddlers.
