수학화 과정에 기초한 수학동화 읽기활동이 유아의 수학적 능력과 수학적 태도에 미치는 효과

국문 초록

본 연구는 수학화 과정에 기초한 수학동화 읽기활동이 유아의 수학적 능력과 수학적 태도에 미치는 효과를 알아보는데 그 목적이 있다. 연구대상은 G시에 소재한 L유치원의 만 5세 2개 학급으로 8주간 16회 실시하였다. 실험집단은 수학화 과정에 의한 수학동화 읽기활동을 하였으며, 비교집단은 일반적인 동화 읽기를 실시하였다. 연구 결과 수학화 과정에 의해 동화를 읽어준 집단이 일반적인 동화 읽어주기를 한 비교집단보다 유아의 수학적 능력과 수학적 태도에 유의하게 높은 것으로 나타나 수학화 과정에 기초한 수학동화 읽기활동이 유아의 수학적 능력과 수학적 태도에 긍정적인 것으로 밝혀졌다. 이러한 결과는 유아교육현장에서 수학동화를 읽는데 있어 수학화 과정의 동화 읽기활동이 수학능력향상과 수학에 대한 긍정적인 태도형성에 효과적인 교수-학습방법이 될 수 있음을 시사하고 있다.

영문 초록

This study examine the effect of reading activity using mathematic-related fairy tales based on mathematizing on young children’s mathematical ability and mathematical attitude. The subjects were 40 five-years-olds (20 in an experimental group, 20 in a comparative group). Data of the tests were analyzed by t-test. The results show the positive effect of reading activity using mathematic-related fairy tales based on mathematizing on young children’s mathematical ability and mathematical attitude. The experimental group displayed higher mathematical ability and attitude with statistical significance than the control group after application of the program. These finding suggest that reading activity using mathematic-related fairy tales can effective teaching-learning method for mathematizing, improving young children’s mathematical abilities and strengthening their mathematical attitudes.
