가정어린이집 교사의 어려움과 보람에 관한 연구

국문 초록

본 연구는 가정어린이집에 근무하면서 교사들이 경험하는 어려움과 보람을 알아봄으로써 가정어린이집 교사의 삶을 이해하며 필요한 도움을 제공하는 데 필요한 기초자료를 마련하기 위하여 가 정어린이집 교사 10명을 연구 참여자로 하여 심층면담과 저널을 수집하여 질적 분석이 이루어졌다. 연구결과, 가정어린이집 교사들은 많은 업무량에 비해 낮은 보수와 열악한 복지, 내 아이만을 생각하는 학부모와의 원만한 관계 형성하기, 교직원들 간의 팀워크 형성 및 소통하기, 영아들의 안전사고에 대한 심리적 부담감, 대중매체를 비롯한 부정적인 사회적 시각 등에 어려움을 느끼고 있었으나. 그럼에 도 불구하고 하루가 다르게 변화하며 성장하는 영아들의 모습, 학부모들의 진심어린 신뢰와 격려, 여러 가지 좌절과 갈등을 극복하며 보육교사로서의 전문성이 신장됨을 통해 보람을 느끼고 있었다. 결론적으로 가정어린이집 보육서비스의 질적 향상을 위해서는 보육의 고유 업무 이외에 과중한 업무량을 줄여줌으로써 근무환경을 개선하고, 보수체계와 복지체계를 개선하여 교사들의 직업에 대한 자긍심을 고취시킬 필요가 있으며, 보육교사 양성제도의 개선과 가정어린이집 교사들에 대한 재교육이 시급하며, 관련 행정기관의 감시와 감독 및 규제와 제제의 시작에서 벗어나 현장의 어려움을 이해하고 그들의 고충을 해결하려는 시각으로의 변화가 요구된다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to analyze the difficulties and joys which teachers experienced in home daycare centers, to understand the teachers' lives, and to make useful basic data for the purpose of giving necessary help to them. 10 teachers in home daycare centers participated in this study, in which a qualitative analysis method was used with in-depth interviews and journals. The results of this study were as follows. Teachers had many difficulties like these: lower reward and poor welfare as compared with heavy workload, establishing good relationships with parents who only thought of their own child, having fine teamwork and communication with other teachers, psychological burden of preventing safety accident to young infants, and negative perspective from outside including mass media. Nevertheless, teachers had joys from seeing children's remarkable growth and changes, heartful trust and encouragement form parents, and their professional abilities increasing despite frustration and conflicts. The results showed that there was a need to decrease the heavy workload excluding intrinsic childcare of the teachers, to improve the work environment, payment, and welfare system for the improvement to the home daycare center service and the pride about their job, to change daycare teacher’ training system, to develop re-educational programs for teachers, to change a perspective of related-adminstration authority from watching, supervision and regulation to understanding and solving out conflicts or problems.
