그림책 장르별 만 3세 유아의 반응 분석

본 연구는 그림책에 대한 만 3세 유아의 반응 유형을 분석하고 그 반응이 그림책 장르에 따라 어떠한 차이가 있는지 알아보는 데 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 본 연구에서는 환상 그림책, 사실 그림책, 정보 그림책, 옛이야기 그림책을 1권씩 선정하여 만 3세 유아에게 읽어주었고, 이 때 유아가 보이는 반응을 모두 전사하였다. 전사된 자료는 Sipe(2011)가 제시한 5가지 반응 범주(분석적 반응, 상호텍스트적 반응, 개인적 반응, 동화된 반응, 연행적 반응)에 따라 분석되었다. 연구결과 그림책의 장르와 유아의 반응 간 차이는 통계적으로 유의미한 것으로 나타났다. 그림책 장르별 유아의 반응수는 옛이야기 그림책에 대한 반응이 가장 많았으며(29.3%) 정보 그림책에 대한 반응이 가장 적었다(19.5%). 반응 유형별 유아의 반응 수는 분석적 반응(33.8%)이 가장 많았으며 연행적 반응(3.3%) 이 가장 적었다. 그림책 장르별 유아의 반응 유형을 살펴보면, 환상 그림책을 읽어줄 때는 분석적 반응(28.3%), 사실 그림책을 읽어줄 때는 개인적 반응(45.4%), 정보 그림책을 읽어줄 때는 분석적 반응(53.9%), 옛이야기 그림책을 읽어줄 때도 분석적 반응(30.1%)이 가장 많았다. 반응 유형별로 유아가 반응을 많이 한 장르를 보면 분석적 반응은 정보 그림책(31.1%), 상호텍스트적 반응은 옛이야기 그림책(37.5%), 개인적 반응은 사실 그림책(34.9%), 동화된 반응은 옛이야기 그림책(43.3%), 연행적 반응은 환상 그림책(45.9%)이었다.

영문 초록

This study aims to analyze the pattern of 3-year-old children’s responses to picture books and to investigate how their responses differ depending on genres. To this end, four books are selected for each of four genres of picture books: fantasy, realism, information and folk tales and then all responses of the children to the books were transcribed. The transcripts were analyzed with the 5 response categories by Sipe(2011). The analysis shows statistically-significant results that the children’s responses differ depending on the picture book genres. Among all responses, the largest number of responses(29.3%) was found in the folk tale picture book while the smallest number (19.5%), in the information picture book. When the results were analyzed in response types, analytical responses were the largest(33.8%) and performative responses, the least(19.5%) in number. When examined in each genre, the most dominant responses were analytical in the picture book genres of fantasy(28.3%), information(53.9%) and folk tales(30.1%) except in realism exhibiting the highest personal responses(45.4%). When analyzed in response types, on the other hand, the highest intertextual(37.5%) and transparent(43.3%) responses were all found in the folk tale picture book while the highest analytical(31.1%), personal(34.9%) and performative(45.9%) responses were found in the information, realism and fantasy picture books, respectively.
