숲 그림책에 나타난 생태계서비스와 인간이 숲에 미치는 영향과 관련한 감정어휘의 탐색

국문 초록

본 연구는 숲 관련 그림책 65권에서 나타나는 생태계서비스와 인간이 숲에 미치는 영향과 관련한 감정어휘를 질적, 양적으로 분석하였다. 감정어휘는 감정의 유형(긍정/부정/중립)과 감정주체의 유형(인간/비인간)에 따라 분류하였으며, 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 숲 그림책에 나타나는 감정어휘는 긍정적, 부정적, 중립적 어휘 순으로 나타났고, 긍정적 어휘가 부정적 어휘보다 더 다양한 종류가 사용되고 있었다. 둘째, 주체에 따라 생태계서비스와 인간이 숲에 미치는 영향과 관련해 사용되는 감정어휘가 질적으로 달랐다. 주체의 관점에 따른 감정어휘가 주로 사용되고 있었고(인간: 아름답다, 비인간: 행복하다), 인간의 관점에서 묘사하는 감정어휘가 특히 많이 사용되었다. 셋째, 생태계서비스에 따라 세부적으로 나누어 살펴보았을 때, 인간/비인간 주체 모두에서 문화서비스와 관련한 감정어휘가 가장 많이 나타났고, 인간일 때 공급서비스, 비인간일 때는 지지서비스와 관련한 어휘의 출현 빈도가 상대적으로 높게 나타났다. 인간이 숲에 미치는 영향과 관련한 감정어휘는 주체가 인간일 때는 어휘의 출현 빈도가 비슷하였지만, 비인간일 때는 부정적 영향과 관련하여 어휘가 더 많이 출현하였다. 본 연구는 숲과 인간의 관계에서 등장하는 다양한 감정을 이해하는 데 도움을 주는 교육자료로 활용될 수 있으며, 지속가능발전 교육에 있어 숲 그림책의 활용 방향과 창작을 위한 시사점을 제공한다.

영문 초록

This study qualitatively and quantitatively analyzed 65 picture books about forests to explore the emotional vocabulary used concerning ecosystem services and the human impact on forests. Emotional vocabulary was classified according to the type of emotion (positive/negative/neutral) and subject (human/non-human). It was found that the appearance frequency of emotional vocabulary was in the order of positive, negative, and neutral. Positive vocabulary was used more diversely than negative vocabulary. The study also revealed that emotional vocabulary used in relation to ecosystem services and human impact on forests differed qualitatively depending on the subject. Mainly, the emotional vocabulary corresponded to the subject’s perspective (human: beautiful, non-human: happy). Meanwhile, more vocabulary that depicted the human’s perspective was used. Furthermore, emotional vocabulary related to cultural services appeared the most in both human and non-human subjects regarding the ecosystem services. Excluding the cultural services, the vocabulary frequency related to supply services appeared more for humans and supporting services for non-humans. The appearance frequency of appearance of emotional vocabulary associated with humans’ impact on forests was similar for humans. However, the vocabulary appeared more for human’s negative impact on forests when the subject was non-human. This study can be used as educational material that helps to understand the various emotions that appear in the relationship between forests and humans. It also provides implications for the direction and creation of forest picture books in education for sustainable development.
