전문대학 유아교육과 신입생의 전공선택동기, 전공만족도, 수업참여도에 관한 연구

국문 초록

본 연구는 전문대학 유아교육과 신입생들의 전공선택동기, 전공만족도, 수업참여도를 알아보기 위해 실시되었다. 연구대상은 서울과 경기도에 위치한 전문대학 유아교육과 신입생 306명이다. 연구도구는 일반적 특성, 전공선택동기, 전공만족도, 수업참여도로 구성된 설문지이다. 수집된 자료는 SPSS 20.0 프로그램을 활용하여 빈도분석, 평균분석, 상관관계 분석을 실시하였다. 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 전공선택동기는 본인의 흥미가 가장 빈도가 높았으며, 그다음으로 본인의 적성과 재능(소질), 성적(합격 가능성), 주변의 권유(부모, 친척, 친구, 선생님 등), 취업의 용이성, 사회적 지위 및 인식, 전공 공부의 난이도, 전공의 미래성, 전공의 인기도순으로 나타났다. 둘째, 진로탐색 여부에 따라 유아교육과 신입생의 전공만족도는 차이가 있었으며, 수업참여도는 차이가 없었다. 셋째, 유아교육과 신입생의 전공만족도와 수업참여도는 통계적으로 유의미한 정적 상관관계가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구 결과는 전문대학 유아교육과 신입생의 특성을 이해하고 진로 및 학업 지도의 기초자료로 활용될 수 있으며 나아가 재학생 유지율과 취업률 향상의 기초자료로 활용될 수 있을 것이다.

영문 초록

This study was conducted to learn about early childhood education at colleges and universities, major selection periods, major satisfaction, and class participation among new students. The study included 306 new students and early childhood education students from colleges in Seoul and Gyeonggi-do. Research tools were questionnaires consisting of general characteristics, major electives, major satisfaction, and class participation. The collected data were used in the SPSS 20.0 program to conduct frequency analysis, average analysis, and correlation analysis. The findings are as follows: First, the major selectors showed the most frequent interest in themselves, followed by their aptitude and talents (predisplicity), grades (passability), surrounding solicitations (parents, relatives, friends, teachers, etc.), ease of employment, social status and awareness, difficulty in studying majors, future of majors, and popularity of majors. Second, there was a difference in early childhood education and the satisfaction of new students, depending on whether they searched for careers, and there was no difference in class participation. Third, early childhood education and new students' major satisfaction and class participation were statistically significant static correlations. The results of this study will be used to understand the characteristics of college early childhood education and new students, and to be used as the basis for career and academic guidance, as well as to improve student retention and employment rates.
