트랜스젠더의 트랜지션 경험에 대한 현상학적 질적 연구 - 트랜스여성 대상으로

국문 초록

본 연구는 트랜스젠더를 대상으로 그들의 트랜지션 경험을 질적 분석방법으로 탐색하는 데 목적이 있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 상호주관성을 바탕으로 참여자들의 트랜지션 에 관한 주관적 경험의 본질구조를 밝히고자 Giorgi의 기술적 현상학적 방법을 수행했다. 트랜스여성 6명을 대상으로 트랜지션 경험에 대해 심층 면담을 진행했고 자료들을 분석했다. 분석 결과, 총 289개의 의미단위에서 6개의 주제와 17개 하위주제가 도출되었다. 연구 결과는 ‘신체불화가 시작되는 청소년기의 내적갈등’, ‘살기위해 이중생활하기’, ‘커밍아웃의 대한 거부와 수용’, ‘나다움을 찾기 위한 노력’, ‘트랜지션을 통한 새로운 관계형성’, ‘엇갈린 미래전망: 좌절과 희망’으로 나타났다. 본 연구는 트랜스젠더의 트랜지션 과정을 심층적으로 탐색함으로써 이들만이 갖는 특별한 경험과 그 과정에 대한 자료를 상담전문가들에게 제공한다는 점에서 의의를 갖는다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to explore transgender people’s transition experiences as a qualitative analysis method. Therefore, in this study, Giorgi’s technical phenomenological method was performed to analyze the participants’ transition experiences and subjective meanings in the process. In-depth interviews were conducted on transition experiences with six trans women and data were analyzed. As a result of the analysis, 6 topics and 17 sub-topics were derived from a total of 289 semantic units. The results of the study are ‘internal conflict in adolescence when physical discord begins’, ‘living a double life to live’, ‘rejection and acceptance of coming out’, ‘effort to find myself’, ‘building a new relationship through transition’, ‘mixed future prospects: frustration and hope’. This study is significant in that it provides counseling experts with special experiences and data on the process of transgender transition by exploring in-depth.
