노숙인거주시설 이용인의 영성에 맞닿은 알코올 중독 회복 경험

국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 가톨릭 노숙인거주시설 이용인의 문제음주 경험을 있는 그대로 이해하면서 영성에 맞닿은 알코올 중독 회복 경험을 내러티브 탐구로 구성하는 것이다. 이를 위해 노숙인거주시설 이용인 2명과 인터뷰 대화를 진행하였다. 연구 결과, 연구참여자의 알코올 중독과 영적 회복 경험의 의미는 ‘선택하니 떠밀리다’, ‘어둔 밤, 점차 짙어지는 어둠’, ‘슬픔의 우물, 영적 바닥에서 다시 튀어 오르다’, ‘미사 시작, 영혼의 성을 향한 발걸음’, ‘내 술잔 가득 넘치도록 가득 채워주시니, 한 잔 술은 음식이 되고’로 구성되었다. 가톨릭 사회복지실천에의 함의는 첫째, 회복 경험은 ‘본질로서의 영성’과 ‘차원으로서의 영성’이 상호보완적으로 드러남, 둘째, 예수 그리스도의 사랑실천을 모델로 가난한 이웃을 섬기는 종사자의 지지는 위기를 기회로 전환함, 셋째, 영적회복은 현재의 신체적, 정신적, 사회적 문제를 스스로 견인할 수 있는 힘을 가지게 함으로 귀결되었다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to understand the problem drinking experience of users of a Catholic homeless residential facility as it is and to construct a narrative inquiry of the alcohol addiction recovery experience in connection with the spirituality. For this purpose, interview conversations were conducted with two users. As a result of the study, The spiritual recovery experience and its meaning are consisted of‘being pushed around when they choose’, ‘dark night, gradually deepening darkness’, ‘The well of grief, bouncing back from the spiritual bottom’, ‘starting mass, taking steps towards the castle of the soul’, ‘You fill my cup to the brim, so a cup of rice wine becomes food’. The implications of the Catholic social welfare practice are first, that the recovery experience reveals ‘spirituality as an essence’ and ‘spirituality as a dimension’ as complementary, second, support for workers who serve poor neighbors based on Jesus Christ’s practice of love as a model helps to turn the crisis into an opportunity. Third, spiritual recovery resulted in having the strength to overcome current physical, mental, and social problems on one’s own.
