국문 초록

이 연구의 목적은 우리나라 대학생이 인식하는 ‘일과 삶의 블렌딩’을 측정하는 도구를 개발하고 타당화하는 것이다. 이 연구에서는 DeVellis(2003)가 제안한 측정도구 개발절차에 따라 ‘대학생의 일과 삶의 블렌딩’ 측정도구를 개발하였다. 이 연구에서 정의하는 ‘일과 삶의 블렌딩’은 개인이 자신의 일과 삶을 분리하지 않고, 추구하는 커리어 목표와 삶의 가치에 맞춰 이를 정렬하여 상호보완적으로 통합하는 것을 의미한다. 이 연구는 서울 소재 대학생을 대상으로 온라인 설문조사를 실시하여 1,331명의 데이터를 수집하였다. 수집된 자료는 기술통계, 상관관계, 문항간 내적일치도, 탐색적 요인분석 및 확인적 요인분석을 통해 분석되었다. 연구결과, ‘대학생의 일과 삶의 블렌딩’ 측정도구는 8개의 문항으로 구성된 단일 차원의 척도로 검증되었다. 이 연구는 기존의 ‘일과 삶의 균형’ 개념이 전제하는 이분법적 사고를 넘어, 일과 삶을 통합적으로 바라보는 관점을 제시하였다는데 의의가 있다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to develop and validate a scale to measure college students' perceived work-life blending. This study followed the instrument development procedure proposed by DeVellis (2003) to develop a measure of university students' work-life blending. Work-life blending, as defined in this study, means that individuals do not separate their work and life, but align them in accordance with their career goals and life values, and integrate them complementarily. This study collected data from 1,331 university students in Seoul, Korea by conducting an online survey. The collected data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, correlation, internal consistency between items, exploratory factor analysis, and confirmatory factor analysis. The results showed that the ‘Work-Life Blending of College Students’ instrument was validated as a single-dimensional scale consisting of eight items. This study is significant in that it goes beyond the dichotomous thinking that the existing concept of work-life balance presupposes and presents an integrated view of work and life.
