국문 초록

본 연구는 교사의 전문성 신장을 위한 중요한 요소로 주목받고 있는 내러티브 역량에 대해 살펴보고, 이를 효과적으로 개발하기 위한 방안을 탐색한다. 그리고 이러한 역량 개발이 교육 현장에 미치는 함의점을 분석하는 데 목적이 있다. 연구 방법으로는 문헌 분석과 질적 사례 연구를 활용하였으며, 이를 토대로 교사 교육에 실질적으로 적용 가능한 전략을 도출하고자 하였다. 연구 결과를 살펴보면, 첫째, 내러티브 역량의 함양은 학교 교육과정 개발에 긍정적인 영향을 미치며, 교사가 교육과정을 주체적으로 재구성할 수 있는 역량을 키우는 데 기여했다. 둘째, 교사의 내러티브 역량은 경험, 반성, 실천의 과정을 통해 점진적으로 함양될 수 있음을 밝혔다. 셋째, 본 연구는 내러티브 역량 개발을 위한 구체적인 접근 방법을 제시하였으며, 그 과정이 교사의 전문성 신장, 정체성 강화, 교육적 실천 향상에 기여함을 확인하였다. 따라서 내러티브 역량은 단순한 표현 능력을 넘어, 교사 전문성과 교육의 질 향상에 밀접하게 연결된 핵심적인 것이다. 결국 교사의 내러티브 역량 개발이 자기 주도적 전문성 성장의 중요한 열쇠이며, 향후 교사 교육의 방향 탐구와 현장 적용 가능한 실천적 통찰을 제공한다는 점에서 교육적으로 큰 의의를 가진다.

영문 초록

This study examines narrative competency, which has recently attracted considerable attention as an important element in enhancing teacher professionalism, and explores effective methods for its development. It also aims to analyze the implications of this competency development on the educational field. The research methodology primarily utilized literature analysis and qualitative case studies to propose specific strategies that can be practically applied in teacher education. The results of this study are as follows: First, the cultivation of narrative competency positively influenced school curriculum development and contributed to enhancing teachers’ capacity to proactively reconstruct the curriculum. Second, it was revealed that teachers’ narrative competency can be gradually developed through the processes of experience, reflection, and practice. Third, this study suggested specific approaches for developing narrative competency, and confirmed that these approaches contributed to enhancing teacher professionalism, strengthening identity, and improving pedagogical practice. Therefore, narrative competency is not merely an expressive skill, but a core capability closely tied to teacher professionalism and the enhancement of education quality. Ultimately, the development of teachers’ narrative competency serves as a key to self-directed professional growth and holds significant educational value, as it offers practical insights for the future direction of teacher education and its application in actual educational context.
