『長生竹島記』의 사료적 가치에 관해 - 사료의 오독과 무분별한 평가의 지양을 위해

국문 초록

This study critically reviews prior research that analyzed Chōsei Takeshimaki and reevaluates its historical value by correcting misreadings and opinions based on it. Chōsei Takeshimaki was written by Yada Takamasa, a Shinto priest of Izumo Taisha shrine, who collected information about Ulleungdo and Dokdo and oral tradition about Ahn Yongbok’s visit to Japan in 1801. Ahn Yongbok is known to have been abducted by Japanese fishermen on Ulleungdo in 1693 and he visited Japan on his own will in 1696. In other words, the article related to Ahn Yongbok contained in Chōsei Takeshimaki is a document of the events from about 110 years ago, collected by oral tradition. Considering this background, the article related to Ahn Yongbok in Chōsei Takeshimaki is extremely lacking in credibility. In the prior research, Chōsei Takeshimaki is evaluated as a useful historical material for revealing the whole unknown story of Ahn Yongbok. However, the historical value of Chōsei Takeshimaki in relation to Ahn Yongbok‘s actual activities is equivalent to nothing.

영문 초록

本稿は、『長生竹島記』を分析した先行研究を批判的に検討し、先行研究における誤読やそれに基づいた見解に訂正を加えつつ、当該史料の有する史料的価値を再評価したものである。『長生竹島記』は出雲大社の神官である矢田高当が享和元年(1801)鬱陵島および独島に関する情報や､安龍福の来日に関する口伝をまとめたものである｡安龍福は元禄六年(1693)鬱陵島にて日本人漁師らに拉致されたことがあり、同九年(1696)には自ら再び日本へ渡ったことで知られている。つまり、『長生竹島記』に収録されている安龍福関連記事は、口伝によって収集された、約110年前の事件を記録したものであり、こうした経緯を鑑みると、『長生竹島記』に見える安龍福関連記事は甚だ信憑性に欠けているものと言わざるを得ない。 先行研究では、安龍福の知られざる全貌を明らかにする上で有用な史料として『長生竹島記』が評価されている。だが、安龍福の「実際の活動」に関し、『長生竹島記』の持つ史料的価値は無きに等しい。
