사이카쿠 작품에 묘사된 ‘사람의 마음(人の心)’ - 서간체 소설집 <万の文反古>를 중심으로

국문 초록

Saikaku described the ‘human heart’ in Futokoro Suzuri and Saikaku Oridome, both of which were published prior to his epistolary novel, Yorozu-no Fumihougu. He explicitly wrote ‘human heart’ and ‘deep emotion’ in the preface and texts. I claim that his interest in the human heart resulted in Yorozu-no Fumihougu. This work contains critical reviews not found in other epistolary novels and correspondence literature. The present study confirms that Saikaku used the critical style of writing to reproduce the critical and didactic discourse about society and humans written in his previous works. Also, given that due to its epistolary nature, the novel naturally lacks excessive explanation, the critical reviews are regarded as the author’s consideration to enhance the reader’s understanding of the content of the letters. There are two types of critical reviews that differ from each other in terms of content, and the exploration of these distinct types of critical reviews is left for future research.

영문 초록

西鶴は書簡体小説『万の文反古』の以前の作品である『懐硯』、『西鶴織留』から「人の心」についての描写をしてきたが、枕や地の文で「人心」、「心底」と書いている。このような人心への関心が『万の文反古』という作品の誕生につながったのではないだろうか。『万の文反古』には、他の書簡体小説と往来物には見られない評文が存在する。これは西鶴が以前の作品の中で、世の中や人間に対する批評や教訓的な口調の文章を書いたのを、評文で書いていることが確認できた。また、書簡体小説であるため、手紙の内容には必要以上の説明がないのが自然なものであることを考える時、評文は手紙の内容の理解を助けるための作家の配慮で存在するものだと考える。二つの系列の評文が存在して内容面でも違いはあるが、究明できなかったのは今後の研究課題にしたい。
