영문 초록

This study examines 30 Korean language textbooks for Japanese learners which were published from 1890 to 1945. Many of these textbooks have never been introduced to researchers and only a few of them have been examined in previous research. Many of them are different from current textbooks in that they are not organized by units. They are composed of sections of Korean alphabet, grammar, vocabulary, and conversation. Each part is examined and analyzed with special regard to textbook organization. The results show that these textbooks focus on vocabulary and conversation rather than grammar. Textbooks which denote formats different from the standard organizations are also discussed.
