『伊勢物語』第三十五段の｢あわ緒｣について: 旧注から新注の『伊勢物語古意』への注解

국문 초록

本論文は、旧注から新注の『伊勢物語古意』にかけての、『伊勢物語』の注解の焦点や特徴を明らかにしたものである。そこで、『伊勢物語』第三十五段の語句をめぐる解釈を通して、旧注の時代から新注の時代への、語句の解釈においても、それぞれの注釈書のさまざまな観点が現れていることが確認できた。 『伊勢物語』の主な研究が連歌師たちによって行われていた旧注の時代は、『伊勢物語』第三十五段の｢あわ緒｣について｢合たる緒｣｢あはせたる緒｣と言い、｢かたくあはせてよりたる｣の言葉が示すように、しっかりと結ばれているから切れにくいものであるというイメージとして考えており、そういう旧注の先人の説を伝授し、継承する形で、注釈が展開されている。一方、国学者によって『伊勢物語』の注釈が行われていた新注の時代は、旧注の説を指摘し、｢あわ緒｣は『万葉集』の｢沫緒｣であると説いている。そこから、新注の注釈書は『万葉集』を始め、文献を基にして、語句の解説を検証することが大切であるという、彼らの考えを表明し、微細な分析を踏まえて『伊勢物語』を注釈している。 以上のように、旧注から新注の『伊勢物語古意』にかけての、過渡期における『伊勢物語』の注解と、そこに込まれたそれぞれの注釈書の思いを具体的に把握することができたと思われる。の注解の焦点や特徴を明らかにしたものである。そこで、『伊勢物語』第三十五段の語句をめぐる解釈を通して、旧注の時代から新注の時代への、語句の解釈においても、それぞれの注釈書のさまざまな観点が現れていることが確認できた。

영문 초록

In this article, I reveal the focus of attention and characteristics of the old explanatory notes of The Tales of Ise and its new explanatory notes, Isemonogatari Koi. In particular, I analyse the interpretation of a phrase in the 35th story of The Tales of Ise and confirm that the interpretation of this phrase reflects distinct standpoints in the two explanatory notes. At the time when the old explanatory notes were created, The Tales of Ise was primarily surveyed by “renga” poets, and the phrase awao in the 35th story of The Tales of Ise was construed as ataruo or awasetaruo ‘the strings tied’, the image of something that is so tightly tied that it cannot be cut, as the phrase kataku awasete yoritaru shows. This hypothesis was reflected in the interpretation of awao in the old explanatory notes. On the other hand, at the time when the new explanatory notes were created, The Tales of Ise was primarily surveyed by the scholars of Japanese classics, and awao was interpreted to correspond to awao (沫緒) in Manyoshu. In the new explanatory notes, then, the author expressed the importance of explaining phrases based on the past literary works including Manyoshu and presented a meticulous analysis of The Tales of Ise. In sum, the present study confirms the differences in the explanation of awao in the old explanatory notes and the new explanatory notes, Isemonogatari Koi, and reveals the different principles behind these explanatory notes in a concrete manner.
