국문 초록

本稿は｢朝鮮通信使と江戸時代の出版メディア｣というテーマで京都と江戸で刊行された、朝鮮通信使行列の情報を収録した案内書について考察したものである。 當時異国である朝鮮からの使節団が行うパレードを見物しようと多くの人々が集まり、その見物者に向けて出版社はあらかじめ行列の鑑賞に必要な情報を提供する｢ガイドブック｣を刷った。本稿では、特に京都と江戸で出された菊屋七郎衛板と辻村五兵衛板の案内書について比較考察し、展開の様相を概観するなかでメディアとしての価値を再発見しようとした。 両方の案内書はそれぞれの体制と目的を以て地域性を考慮した情報を大衆に提供する一方で、時にはお互いに連携しながら情報を共有しており、朝鮮通信使を朝貢使節と見なす共通した視線も見受けられる。 これらの案内書がパレードや使節団に関する情報を大衆に提供し、また朝鮮への認識の形成にも寄与した大衆メディアとしての側面に注目し、今後は対馬で刊行された朝鮮通信使に関する案内書や、琉球王国の使節団に関する案内書との比較研究も行うつもりである。

영문 초록

This study investigates the parade guides published in Kyoto and Edo under the theme of ‘Joseon Tongsinsa and Publication Media in Edo Period’. Thousands of people flocked to watch the parade performed by the delegation, and publishers published guidebooks in advance. In this study, the publication and contents of guidebooks published in Kyoto and Edo were compared and reviewed to outline the development of guidebooks and rediscover the value of the guidebooks as media. Both guides provide information to the public in consideration of locality with their respective systems and publication purposes, and sometimes share information in connection with each other. On the other hand, it also reveals a common view of the delegation as a tribute envoy. Paying attention to the fact that it served as a mass media where information about the Joseon Dynasty can be easily obtained, I intend to continue a comparative study with the guidebook published in Tsushima and the guidebook for the parade of the Ryukyu Kingdom delegation.
