국문 초록

이른바‘슈퍼 헤비급 엘니뇨’ 시대의도래에도 불구하고우리는환경 위기에 대해 별다른 두려움을 느끼지 못한다. 그것은 현대 세계의 일상성에 매몰된 우리의 ‘(무)감각’ 때문이 아니라, 낯익은 일상이라는 꿈을 더 연장시키려는 ‘(무)의식’ 때문일지도 모른다. 당연하게도 이러한 꿈-과정에서는 현실의 변화가 일어나지 않으며, 꿈속에서의 소원성취만이 무한 반복될 뿐이다. 그것과 유사한 방식으로 오늘날 생태주의 문학은 주제의 식상함과 이론의 동어반복이라는 교착상태에 직면해 있다. 과연 생태주의 문학은 무엇을 할 수 있는가? 생태주의 문학의 (불)가능성에 대해 다시 질문을 던지는 작업은 그러한 교착상태를 벗어나기 위한 모색의 일환이 될 것이다. 이 글에서는 서정적 자아의고백적 성찰이 아닌 시적 대상들간의 자율성에 주목한이 하석의 초기 생태주의 시를 다시 읽음으로써 그 모색의 단초를 마련하고자 한다. 환경 위기속에서 부재하는 것으로 간주되는 대상들에 대해 관심을 갖는 것은 인간중심적인 사유에서 벗어나 생태중심적인 사유에 주목하려는 생태주의 문학의 반성적 태도와 맞닿아 있다. 생태주의 문학은 인식의 전환없이 환경위기 문제를 해결할 수 있다고 말하는 환경주의에서 벗어나 인식의 전환을 통해 환경 위기 문제에 대해 재발견할 것을 추동한다. 환경위기의 현실과 생태주의 문학이 처해 있는 무관심과 교착의 상태를 극복할 수 있는 계기는 그러한 끊임없는 재발견의 과정들 속에서 마련될 수 있을 것이다.

영문 초록

Despite the advent of the so-called ‘super-heavyweight El Niño’ time, we do not feel much fear about the environmental crisis. It s not because of ‘(non)sense’ buried in our everyday-ness of the modern world, but it may be due to ‘(un)consciousness’ more to sustain dream of the familiar everyday life. No changes in reality would take place at all in this dream-process, but only the wish fulfillment in dreams be repeated infinitely. Similarly, the ecological literature today is deadlocked over both triteness of subjects and tautology of theories. Asking again about the (im)possibility of ecological literature would be an attempt to escape such deadlock. By re-reading the early ecological poetry of Lee, Ha-suk focused on the autonomy of movements between poetic objects rather than confessional introspection of the lyric self, we would like to begin the attempt. Having an interest in the voices of objects from ecological crisis has touched not ‘the impossibility’ but ‘the possibility’ of ecological literature trying to focus on the reflective attitude per se. It is hard to say that ecological literature could solve the ecological crisis. However, it is not difficult to say that poetic language can discover the ecological crisis. Indeed literary re-discovery of the ecological crisis will be a starting point for exploring the possibilities of ecological literature again.
