국문 초록

본고는한국어중급학습자의쓰기텍스트를질적분석하고텍스트의내용구조의특징과 오류양상고찰을통해대학(원) 입학전필요한글쓰기교육과정개발을위한기초자료를 마련하는데그목적이있다. 나아가대학내외국인신입생들의글쓰기부담을덜어주고, 이 들이 전공 과제 수행에글쓰기 능력을 효과적으로 전이하여 발현할 수 있도록 돕고자한다. 글쓰기를 효과적으로 수행하려면 ‘내용 지식(명제적 지식과 절차적 지식이 통합된 개념)’의 습득이 필수적인데 이를 습득하고 글쓰기에 적용하는 능력은 단시간에 이루어지기 힘들다. 따라서 기존의 어휘․문법 중심의 글쓰기 교육에서 벗어나 현실적으로 한국어 학습자들에게 요구되는 내용․맥락 중심의 교육이 필요하다. 이를 위해서 현재 중급학습자들의 글쓰기 능력을 텍스트 질적 분석을 통해 살펴보았다. 중급학습자의텍스트를‘내용의적절성’과‘내용의전개구조’를기준으로적절함과부적절함으로 나누어 평가하였고 그 특징과 오류 양상을 분석하였다. 내용 및 과제 수행 분석결과, 중급학습자들은서론-본론-결론에서내용의구성과과제수행능력에서부족함을보였다. 이는 중급 학습자들에게 새로운 아이디어를 생성하고 이를 단락으로 구성하는 일이 낯설고, 어려운 과정이기 때문이다. 또한 내용에 따라 텍스트를 논리적으로 구성하는 데에도 미숙했는데 이는 텍스트 내용 구조와 기능에 대한 인식 부족 때문인 것으로 해석된다. 내용과 단락을 구성하는 일은 대학 글쓰기에서 매우 중요하지만 단시간에 이러한 능력을 향상시키는 일은 어렵다. 그러므로 글쓰기 교육이 적절한 단계에 따라 체계적으로 이루어질 때에라야 대학 내 유학생들은 교양과 전공 과목에서 수준 높은 글쓰기 능력을 발현시킬 수 있을 것이다.

영문 초록

The purpose of the paper is to seek the desirable way to the prerequisite writing education for KAP learners as a foreign language by considering the error patterns that presented in the written texts of the intermediate learners. Furthermore, it is to help effective transfer of college students’ writing skills and navigate its effectiveness. To obtain effective writing skills, it is essential to acquire the content knowledge (a notion combining propositional knowledge and procedural knowledge); however, it is difficult to achieve the goals to learn the knowledge and put it in practice in a short time. This infers that there is a need to focus on content and context-centered educations, which Korean-language learners actually need in reality, rather than the education that makes students immersed in learning grammar and vocabulary. In order to focus on the content &context-centered education, qualitative content analysis has been conducted to assess the writing skills of learners at intermediate level. Written texts have been analysed and described in two parts of evaluation categories which are ‘content and task execution’ and ‘Development structure’. As the result, it appeared that most intermediate level learners appropriately divided paragraphs by making indentations perfunctorily. However, inappropriateness was observed in terms of the composition and development of writing. In fact, it was found that intermediate level learners experienced difficulties in organizing contents and composing a paragraph even for a short writing. The organizing contents and composing a paragraph are very important in academic writing, but they are hard to enhance in a short time which are needed in writing Korean academic essay. Therefore, when overseas students at universities are taught writing skills based on their level, they could find the way of improving their skills to write advanced level of essays for cultural subjects as well as their majors.
