『眉愁』의 재창작 양상

국문 초록

본고는 윤백남이 『미수』를 창작하면서 『어우야담』 소재 『홍도』를 기반으로 삼아 다양한 기존서사작품들을활용하여재창작한 양상을 살펴보았다. 우선 『미수』에 활용된 기존서사작품으로는 『홍도』, 『연려실기술』 소재 홍순언이야기, 최척전 , 『춘도기우』가 있으며, 『강남홍전』 , 『여협』 , 훼절형 열설화 등 우리나라 작품들과 함께 중국의 『요재지이』 소재 상삼관 등도상호텍스트성이 있음을 밝혔다. 이들작품과의비교를통해서『미수』는 『홍도』 를 기반으로 삼되 새로운 주제의식 아래 다양한 기존 서사작품들을 끌어들이면서 창작적 역량을 발휘하여 재구성하는 한편 창의적 요소를 가미하는 방식으로 창작된 작품이라는 것을 확인하였다. 또한그재창작의 특징을 다음과 같이정리하였다. 첫째, 이작품은양원이라는반동인물의 창조로 인해 『홍도』 와는완연히다른 작품으로거듭났다. 양원을반동인물로 내세워 온갖 악행을 저지르는 추악한 인물로 형상화함으로써 부정적 중국인 형상을 부각시켰다. 둘째, 이 작품은 홍도라는 여성의 정조를 둘러싸고 양원, 홍도, 정생의 욕망이 첨예하게 대립하도록 사건을 구성함으로써 극적인 효과를 최대한 끌어올렸다. 셋째, 여성적 협기의 세계를 그리면서 여협류적 성격을 강하게 드러냈다. 넷째, 역사소설로서 임진왜란 당시 명군의 실상을 고발하였다.

영문 초록

The present study examined the aspects in which Yoon Baek-nam mixed and adapted various old tales based on Hongdo story of Euwooyadam to re-create a historical novel Misu while writing it. First, he used such old Korean tales as Hongdo story of Euwooyadam , The Story of Hong Sun-eun of Yonlyosilkisul , Choicheokjeon , and Chundogiwoo for Misu . In addition, it is known that the novel has intertextuality with foreign literature such as Chinese Sangsamkwan of Liaozhaizhiyi as well as other Korean literature such s Gangnamhongjeon , Yeohyup and Yeol-bulyeol folktales. Comparing Misu with these works, it was found that Yoon Baek-nam wrote Misu based on Hongdo , but introduced various old tales to the novel under a new sense of subject and exerted his creativity to recompose them while adding creative elements to Misu . In addition, the characteristics of his re-creation for Misu can be summarized as follows. First, this novel is painted with totally different colors from Hongdo as a reactionary character Yangwon appears. Yangwon is featured as a reactionary character who commits all sorts of ugly misconducts, embodying negatived image of the Chinese people. Second, a sharp confrontation is composed among Yangwon, Hongdo, and Jeongsang around the chastity of a female character Hongdo , which maximizes dramatic effect. Third, this novel pictures the world of a brave female spirit, showing off female heroism. Unlike the previous female heroism, however, this novel is distinctive in that the main female character scarifies her chastity to save her husband, though respecting it with importance. This novel explores and pictures the inside world of human being, questioning what a true (conjugal) love is and also chastity.
