전통 바탕재로서 한지의 특성과 미술교육적 활용에 관한 연구

국문 초록

미술교육에서 재료에 관해 이해하는 것은 재료의 물질적, 물리적 도구이상의 표현형식과 내용의 정신성을 반영하는 중요성을 가진다. 특히 전통회화의 바탕재는 오랜 역사를 거쳐 철학적이고 사상적인 의미까지를 함축하여 발전해 왔다. 본 연구에서는 전통회화의 대표적인 바탕재인 화선지 외에 우리나라에서 제조되어 특색을 가지는 한지에 관해 살펴볼 것이다. 이는 전통 미술교육에서 재료의 다양성과 더불어 표현의 다양성을 추구할 수 있는 기회를 제공한다. 전통회화의 대표적인 바탕재인 한지의 특성은 서구의 다른 바탕재보다 얇다는 보편적 특성 외에도, 화선지 보다는 질기고, 두터우며, 윤기있고, 매끄러운 특성을 가진다. 이러한 한지의 특성을 심도 깊게 살펴보고 한지와 견에 나타난 안료의 고착상태를 전자현미경 등으로 관찰하고 분석하여, 진채와 담채를 비교하고자 한다. 이를 바탕으로 한지의 특성을 잘 나타낼 수 있는 표현기법을 수업에 활용하여 학습자들의 결과물로 나타난 작품을 분석해 보았다. 이는 전통 바탕재를 현대적으로 응용하고 교육적 시사점을 제시하여 다원화된 현 시대의 요구에 맞추어 전통미술교육의 다양성의 기회를 제시하고자 함이다.

영문 초록

The understanding of art materials can provide the base for learning artistic expression and for appreciating art works. This study aims to overcome the limited ways of teaching traditional art in school, and to search the possibility of teaching traditional materials based on the in-depth understanding of the philosophy and aesthetics of Korean art. In order to develop a concrete argument, this study focuses on Korean Paper as the significant traditional material that reflects the Oriental world-views, philosophies and art theories. The characteristics of Korean Paper are explained in association with its expressive quality of showing strong, thickness, shine and silky. I analyse and monitor the cellulose of Korean paper and silk through JSM-6701F (Field Emission Scanning Electron Microscope) for observation of the characteristic of Korean paper. The Korean paper has a lot of potential for traditional art education. this study suggest the practical and detailed plan for lesson of traditional art education. The education of traditional material should be taught based on its true meaning and value so as to help students discover cultural identity and esteem through their own personal experiences with traditional art. In the general understanding of traditional paintings, there is a oversimplified analysis of the material, which are considered as one of the most important basic element in traditional painting. The purpose of this study is to analyze the various formative value about Korean paper of the traditional art and implicate for various contemporary art education.
