초ㆍ중등 미술교육에서 한국화를 통한 감성개발의 의의

국문 초록

본 연구는 현대 물질문명의 생활방식과 미술교육에 있어 서구조형방법의 편중된 학습으로 인하여 생긴 학생들의 서구화된 감성을 전통 회화인 한국화의 다양한 조형방법의 학습을 통하여 어떻게 한국인의 고유 심미의식과 미감 등 감성을 개발시킬 수 있는지에 대하여 알아본 것이다. 이러한 한국적 미감의 회복을 통한 감성개발을 위해서는 초ㆍ중등 미술 교육에 있어 한국화를 단순히 전통미술이라는 인식을 넘어 적극적이며 체계적인 실기방법을 정립하여야 하며, 이를 통하여 어떻게 동양의 전통적 사상을 직간접적으로 체득함으로써 감성을 풍부하게 함과 동시에 인성도야에 도움을 줄 수 있는지에 대한 연구 방법을 탐색해야 한다. 현재 초ㆍ중등 미술교육에 있어 한국화 실기부문은 형식과 방법론에 그치고 그것을 왜 교육해야하는지에 대한 전인격적 감성개발의 측면으로 다가서지 못하는데 문제점이 있다. 따라서 본 연구는 한국화의 실기교육을 통한 감성개발이라는 주제로 알아봄으로써 오늘날 서구적 감성에 젖어 살아갈 수밖에 없는 학생들에게 동서양의 균형 있는 감성을 키울 수 있도록 그 방법론을 제시한 것이다.

영문 초록

This research explores how emotional development through esthetical awareness and sense of beauty intrinsic to Korean sentiment can be realized by incorporating learning of various visual techniques of traditional Korean paintings in the education of students whose emotional tendencies have been influenced by overly westernized visual methods when it comes to the life style and the art education of the 21st century's material civilization. In order to instigate emotional development through recovery of Korean sense of beauty, a more proactive and systematic art practice must be established in the elementary and middle school art education, beyond the confined frame of Korean painting as a mere traditional art domain. Through this effort, further study should focus on how emotional enrichment and individual development can be strengthened through students' direct and indirect learning of oriental traditional concepts. Current elementary and middle school art education's Korean painting practice falls short in just teaching formal methodology rather than giving light into why such education is needed, thereby being insufficient in accommodating personal development. Hence, this study examines traditional sense of beauty embedded in the forms of Korean paintings as the subject of emotional development education for Koreans as a means to suggest a way to restore a more balanced emotional development between the Oriental culture and the Western in students who are living in an environment where western influence dominates.
