발달장애아동 어머니의 콜라주 미술치료 경험연구

국문 초록

본 연구는 콜라주 미술치료 경험을 통해 발달장애아동 어머니의 심리․정서의 변화를 살펴보는 데 목적이 있다. 본 연구는 다중사례연구로 발달장애아동 어머니 3명을 연구참여자로 선정하였다. 자료수집은 2022년 1월부터 5월까지 개인별 콜라주 미술치료 10회기, 심층 면담 3회를 진행하였다. 수집된 자료는 질적 사례연구 방법을활용하여 코딩과 범주화를 통해 심층 분석하였다. 연구 결과 첫째, 발달장애아동 어머니들은 우울, 불안, 수치심, 죄책감, 열등감 등 다양한 심리․정서의 변화를 콜라주 작품의 상징을 통해 드러냈다. 둘째, 발달장애아동 어머니들의 공통된 심리․정서는 5개의 주제와 21개의 하위주제로 도출되었다. 하늘이 무너지는 충격, 내 아이를 바라보는 세상의 시선, 내 아이를 지키기 위한 책임감, 장애아 엄마로 살아내기, 아이를 통해 깨닫는 삶의 의미로요약되었다. 또한 차이점의 심리․정서는 연구참여자의 환경요인, 욕구탐색, 보호자원에 따라 차이가 나타났다. 이상의 연구 결과를 통해 발달장애아동 어머니들은 콜라주 미술치료를 경험하며 내면의 심리․정서를 표현함으로써, 욕구를 해소하고 현실을 인식하여, 삶을 긍정적으로 수용하는 계기가 되었다. 본 연구는 콜라주 미술치료가 발달장애아동 어머니들의 심리적 중재와 개입에 매우 효과적이며, 임상 현장에서 활용 가능성을 시사한 점에서 본 연구의 의의와 제한점에 대하여 논의하였다.

영문 초록

This study aimed to explore the psychological and emotional changes of mothers raising children with developmental disabilities through the experience of collage art therapy. Using a multiple case study design, three mothers were selected as research participants. Data were collected from January to May 2022 through ten individual collage art therapy sesions and three in-depth interviews. The collected data were analyzed using a qualitative case study method through coding and categorization. The findings were as follows: First, the mothers expressed diverse psychological and emotional changes such as depression, anxiety, shame, guilt, and inferiority through the symbolic representations in their collage works. Second, five overarching themes and twenty-one subthemes of shared psychological and emotional experiences were emerged: the shock of a collapsed world, the gaze of society toward their child, a sense of responsibility to protect their child, living as a mother of a disabled child, and discovering the meaning of life through their child. Differences in psychological and emotional experiences were influenced by environmental factors, exploration of needs, and available protective resources. Overall, the findings suggested that the collage art therapy enabled these mothers to express their inner psychological and emotional states, resolve unmet needs, recognize reality, and positively accept their lives. This study highlighted the effectiveness of the collage art therapy as a psychological intervention for mothers of children with developmental disabilities and discussed its clinical implications as well as limitations.
