국문 초록

이 연구는 인공지능(AI) 기술이 상담에 미치는 영향 및 그에 대한 대처에 대한 지금까지의 논의를 정리하고 앞으로의 과제를 도출하는 것을 목적으로 수행되었다. 이를 위해 상담이라는 서비스가 과연 AI로 대체될 수 있느냐는 질문을 중심으로 제기되었던 여러 가지 논의와 실제 AI 기술이 적용되었던 상담 서비스를 학술지에 발표된 연구를 중심으로 살펴보았다. 먼저, 디지털 헬스케어 영역에서 정신건강의 치료와 예방을 위해 제안된 AI 서비스를 셀프헬프 AI, 디지털 치료제, 소셜로봇을 중심으로 활용 상황을 종합하고 분석하였다. 다음으로 상담과 가장 밀접히 관련된 AI 서비스인 AI 챗봇 상담자의 발달과정, 대표 사례, 상담 성과 등을 통해 AI 상담의 가능성과 한계를 추출하였다. 마지막으로 AI 시대에 상담자들에게 맡겨진 과제를 도출하기 위해 AI 상담자의 한계 및 융합적 활용과 AI 윤리적 사용의 책무성 측면을 논의하였다.

영문 초록

This study aimed to synthesize discussions on the impact of AI technology on counseling, examine professionals’ adaptations, and identify future tasks. It analyzed academic discussions, particularly those addressing whether counseling can be replaced by AI, drawing on published academic studies of counseling services that incorporate AI technology. First, the study reviewed the current status of proposed AI-based mental health services, with a focus on digital therapeutics, self-help applications, and social robots. Next, the study examined AI chatbot counseling services, which were developed specifically for counseling. These were analyzed in terms of their development process, representative cases, and counseling outcomes. Lastly, the study identified the emerging responsibilities of counselors in the AI era derived from discussions on the potential for AI counselors, the integration of AI into counseling practice, and the ethical issues associated with AI.
