국문 초록

연구목적: 본 연구는 필리핀 유치원 글로벌 서비스러닝에 참여한 예비유아교사의 필리핀 유아에 대한 이미지 변화와 서비스러닝 경험을 살펴보기 위한 것이다. 연구방법: 연구 참여자는 D 대학교 아동복지상담전공 2학년 7명 학생들로, 사전·사후 집단면담, 개별 활동일지와 반성적 저널을 분석하였다. 연구결과: 첫째, 학생들의 사전 필리핀 유아에 대한 이미지는 ‘가난하고 노동을 하는유아’, ‘바깥에서 친구들과 몸으로 노는 유아’, ‘행복지수가 높아 항상 웃고 있는 유아’로나타났다. 사후 이미지는 ‘교복을 입은 단정하고 다정한 유아’, ‘교실에서 학습에 열중하는 유아’, ‘자율성이 부족한 안쓰러운 유아’로 나타났다. 둘째, 글로벌 서비스러닝을 통한 학생들의 경험은‘유아교실환경에 따른 불평등한 교육’, ‘놀이중심 교육과정 운영의 중요성’, ‘전공 자부심과 문화적 역량향상’으로 나타났다. 논의 및 결론: 본 연구는 글로벌 서비스러닝이 예비유아교사의 문화적 편견자각과비판적사고및문화적역량을높일수있는방안임을확인하였다.

영문 초록

Purpose: This study explores the image changes of Filipino children and the service-learning experiences of pre-service early childhood teachers who participated in a global service-learning program at a kindergarten in the Philippines. Method: Seven second-year students majoring in Child Welfare and Counseling at D University participated. Data were collected through pre- and post-group interviews, individual activity logs, and reflective journals. Results: Filipino children were perceived as “poor and working,” “playing outside,” and “always smiling.” After the experience, they were viewed as “neatly dressed and kindly,” “focused on learning,” and “lacking autonomy.” The service-learning experiences revealed insights into educational inequality, the importance of play-based curriculum, and enhanced professional identity and cultural competence. Conclusion: This study confirms that global service-learning can foster cultural awareness, critical thinking, and cultural competence in pre-service teachers
