국문 초록

이 연구는 알레르기 질환을 경험하는 유아의 외현화 문제행동과 학업 기술의 관계, 그리고 그에 대한 어머니의 온정적 양육행동의 매개효과를 검정하였다. 이 연구에서는 최근 12개월 이내 알레르기 질환 증상을 경험한 만 5세 아동 762명과 어머니 자료(한국아동패널 7차년도)를 사용하였다. 알레르기 질환 유아의 외현화 문제행동, 해당 아동의 어머니의 온정적 양육행동, 학업 기술에 대해서는 상관관계분석 및 구조방정식 모형 분석을 실시하였고, 부트스트래핑을 통해 어머니의 온정적 양육행동의 매개효과 유의성을 검정하였다. 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 알레르기 질환 유아의 외현화 문제행동, 어머니의 온정적 양육행동, 알레르기 질환 유아의 학업 기술은 모두 상관관계가 유의했다. 둘째, 알레르기 질환 유아의 외현화 문제행동은 어머니의 온정적 양육행동과 유아의 학업 기술에 모두 부적인 영향이 있었고, 어머니의 온정적 양육행동은 알레르기 질환 유아의 외현화 문제행동과 학업 기술의 관계를 부분 매개하고 있었다. 이 결과를 토대로 알레르기 질환 유아의 인지발달에 도움을 주기 위해 알레르기 질환 유아의 외현화 문제행동에 대한 개입과 부모 대상 양육지원 프로그램이 필요할 것이다.

영문 초록

This study examines the relationship between externalizing problem behaviors and academic skills in preschool children with allergic diseases, as well as the mediating effect of mothers' positive parenting behaviors on this relationship. The study utilized data from 762 five-year-old children who had experienced symptoms of one or more allergic diseases within the past 12 months and their mothers (Korean Child Panel Study, 7th year). Correlation analysis and structural equation modeling were conducted to examine the relationships among externalizing problem behaviors, maternal positive parenting, and academic skills in children with allergic diseases. The significance of the mediating effect of the parenting behaviors was tested using bootstrapping. The results are as follows. First, there was a significant correlation among externalizing problem behaviors in children with allergic diseases, mothers' positive parenting behaviors, and academic skills of those children. Second, among children with allergic diseases, externalizing problem behaviors were associated with changes in maternal positive parenting behaviors and children’s academic skills. The positive parenting behaviors partially mediated the relationship between externalizing problem behaviors and academic skills of children with allergic diseases. Based on these results, interventions targeting externalizing problem behaviors in children with allergic diseases and the parenting support programs for parents are necessary to aid in the cognitive development of children with allergic diseases.
