국문 초록

이 연구는 2022 개정 창의적 체험활동 교육과정과 IB CAS 프로그램을 비교·분석하여 창의적 체험 활동 교육과정의 발전 방향을 모색하는 데 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 2022 개정 창의적 체험활동 교육과정과 IB CAS 관련 공식 문서들을 대상으로 ‘영역과 시간 배당’, ‘설계와 운영’, ‘평가와 이수’ 세 가지 측면을 총론적 차원에서 분석했다. 분석 결과, 두 교육과정은 모두 교과 외 활동으로서 학생의 전인적 성장을 추구하면서도 실행 방식에서 차별화된 특성을 보였다. IB CAS는 영역을 독립적으로 구성하고 시간 운영에 유연성을 부여하여 학생의 자율성을 높였으며, CAS Stages를 통해 주도적 참여와 성찰을 촉진하고, 학습 성과 중심의 질적 평가를 수행하였다. 창의적 체험활동은 영역 간 연계와 통합을 강조하면서도 구조화된 시간 운영 체계를 마련하여 안정적인 교육 기회를 제공하고, 학교 단위의 체계적인 설계를 통해 형평성을 확보했으며, 시수 충족과 참여도를 기준으로 평가를 운영하여 교육의 안정성을 유지하였다. 이러한 결과에 기초하여 창의적 체험활동 교육과정의 발전 과제로 첫째, 교과와의 상호 보완적 관계 속 교육과정 정체성 명확화, 둘째, 체계적 설계를 통한 학생 주도성과 성찰 기회 확대, 셋째, 학생의 실질적 성장을 지원하는 평가 체제 구축을 제안하였다.

영문 초록

This study aims to explore developmental directions for the Creative Experiential Activities curriculum by comparing the 2022 Revised Creative Experiential Activities Curriculum of Korea with the International Baccalaureate (IB) CAS program. Official documents from both curricula were analyzed in three aspects: 'domain and time allocation,' 'design and operation,' and 'assessment and completion.' The analysis revealed that while both curricula pursue holistic student development through extracurricular activities, they implement this goal differently. IB CAS enhances student autonomy through independent domains and flexible time management, facilitates reflection through CAS Stages, and conducts qualitative assessment focused on learning outcomes. The Creative Experiential Activities curriculum provides stable educational opportunities through domain integration and structured time allocation, secures equity through systematic school-level design, and maintains educational stability through assessment based on participation and time fulfillment. Based on these findings, three developmental tasks were proposed: establishing clearer curricular identity in relation to subject curricula, expanding student agency and reflection opportunities through systematic design, and developing an assessment system that supports students' substantial growth. These tasks contribute to enhancing student agency as emphasized in the 2022 Revised National Curriculum.
