국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 어머니-유아의 문해 상호작용이 유아의 출현적 문해능력과 공감능력에 어떠한 영향이 있는지 살펴보는 것이다. 이를 위하여 서울의 어린이집에 재원 중인 유아와 그 어머니 141쌍을 대상으로 어머니-유아의 문해 상호작용, 유아의 출현적 문해능력과 공감능력 척도를 사용하여 조사하였다. 분석은 SPSS 20.0을 이용하여 빈도분석, 신뢰도 검증, 상관관계분석, 다중회귀분석을 하였다. 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 어머니-유아의 문해 상호작용, 유아의 출현적 문해능력과 공감능력 간에는 서로 유의한 정적 상관관계가 나타났다. 둘째, 어머니-유아의 문해 상호작용은 유아의 출현적 문해능력과 공감능력에 유의한 정적 영향을 미치는 것으로 확인하였다. 연구결과를 토대로 유아의 출현적 문해능력과 공감능력 촉진을 위해 어머니가 적절하게 유아와 문해 상호작용을 할 수 있도록 돕는 부모교육 프로그램 개발의 필요성에 대하여 논의하였다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of mother-child literacy interaction on young children’s emergent literacy skills and empathy ability. The subjects of this study were 141 pairs of young children and mothers who were enrolled in early childhood education centers in Seoul. They were investigated using the mother-child literacy interaction, emergent literacy skill and empathy ability scale. For analysis, frequency analysis, reliability verification, correlation analysis, and multiple regression analysis were performed using SPSS 20.0. The research results are as follows. First, there was a significant positive correlation between mother-child literacy interaction, emergent literacy skill and empathy ability of young children. Second, it was confirmed that the mother-child literacy interaction had a significant positive effect on emergent literacy skill and empathy ability of young children. Based on the results of this study, the necessity to develop a parent education program that helps mothers properly interact with young children to promote emergent literacy skill and empathy ability of young children is discussed.
