영아전담어린이집 어머니와 교사의 아동학대사례에 대한 인식 차이

국문 초록

본 연구는 아동학대 사례에 기초하여 영아전담 어린이집 어머니와 교사간의 인식 차이를 살펴봄으로써, 두 대상 간 공감과 이해의 폭을 넓히는 자료 제공에 목적을 두고 실시되었다. 영아의 어머니 3명과 영아반 담임교사 3명을 대상으로 개별 면담이 이루어졌으며 분석 결과, 영아의 어머니와 교사는 학대 인정, 상황 이해, 원인 탐색, 해결과 예방 등의 사례 탐구 과정에서 인식의 차이를 나타내고 있었다. 어머니들은 주로 교사 자질 문제를 언급하였고, 교사들은 교사 자질을 비롯하여 부모 자질, 보육 상황, 아동 특성 등의 다양한 문제를 언급하였다. 이러한 어머니와 교사간의 이해 차이를 좁히기 위한 방안으로는 첫째, 어머니와 교사 모두 영아의 적응을 돕는 데 우선 집중하고, 둘째, 어머니는 교사를 존중하고 교사는 존중받을 자격을 갖추며, 셋째, 어머니는 단체 생활이라는 한 학급의 운영상황을 이해해주려 노력하고, 넷째, 교사는 상황에 대한 과정 변명보다는 결과를 중시하는 입장을, 어머니는 결과보다 과정을 중시하는 입장을 가져야 함을 제안하게 되었다.

영문 초록

This study was performed to provide data so to increase the empathy and understanding between mothers and teachers of day-care centers by looking at the differences in their perceptions based on cases of child abuse. We gave in depth interviews to three infant mothers and their teachers, respectively. The results showed that there were differences in the perceptions between mothers and teachers regarding abuse recognition, including situation understanding, causality, and the ways of solving and preventing child abuse. Mothers mainly spoke about the teachers’ qualities, and the teachers spoke the parents’ qualities, situation of childcare, and children’s characteristics including the teachers’ qualities. Four suggestions were made as follow. First, both mothers and teachers should pay attention to their children to be more adaptable to the class environment. Second, teachers and mothers have to respect each other and teachers should be well qualified to be respected. Third, mothers should try to understand the class environment where group activities are common. Forth, teachers should be more interested in the results than the processes in some situations, whereas mothers should consider the processes as being more important than the results.
