아동도서 서평 분석 연구 : 한국어린이문학교육학회 추천도서를 중심으로

뉴미디어 시대에 우리나라 아동문학 관련 학회 중 회원 여부에 상관없이 누구나 검색할 수 있도록 홈페이지에 정기적으로 서평을 올리고 있는 단체는 한국어린이문학교육학회가 유일하다. 이에 본 연구는 2002년부터 2016년까지 한국어린이문학교육학회 홈페이지에 탑재된 추천도서 서평 284편을 분석하였다. 분석 영역은 서지정보, 기술적 서평, 비평적 서평이며, 각 영역을 세분화하여 총 27개 항목에 따라 서평 내용을 분석하였다. 분석 결과, 서평자 및 서지에서는 도서명, 글작가, 그림작가, 출판사, 표지 이미지, 서평자 이름, 서평자 직업, 번역자 순으로 정보의 제공 여부가 다루어졌다. 문학적 서평항목에서는 책 내용 개요, 인물, 주제, 배경, 사건, 장르 순으로 서평이 주로 이루어졌다. 예술적 서평항목에서는 색, 매체, 모양, 선, 질감 순으로 서평이 이루어졌으나 문학적 서평에 비해 그 빈도는 낮다. 비평적 서평에서는 서평자 견해, 도서의 우수성을 중심으로 서평이 기술되었고, 글/그림의 적합성, 같은 글/그림 작가 비교, 같은 주제 간 비교, 도서의 단점 순으로 서평 내용이 제공되었다. 앞으로 양질의 서평을 유지하기 위해서는 서평자의 충실한 정보 제공에 대한 의지, 비평적 서평 쓰기에 대한 전문성 증진, 문학뿐 아니라 그림에 대한 전문지식 함양, 그리고 학회 차원의 그림 전문 서평자 확보, 학회서평 기준에 따른 일관성 있는 관리 등이 필요하다.

영문 초록

The Korean Society of Children's Literature and Education (KSCL&E) is the only one who provides an online book review section on the homepage among the many research associations related to children's literature. This study was carried out to analyze the 284 book reviews on the homepage of the KSCL&E from 2002 to 2016. The categories to analyze the online children's book reviews include general bibliographic information, descriptive reviews, and critical reviews. A total of 27 items for the children's book reviews was analyzed.The results of the analysis were as follows. Not all of the names of the reviewers as well as the background information of the reviewers, names of the authors and illustrators, publishing companies, publishing dates, and title page images were provided. The review statements of the literary elements were provided in order of summaries of the texts, characters, themes, settings, plots, and genres. The review statements of the art elements were provided in order of colors, art mediums, shapes, lines, and textures. The frequency of artistic elements in the online reviews was quite low compared to the literary comments of the online reviews. In critical reviews, the personal comments of reviewers and the strength of the books were identified as the major statements; followed by the compatibility of the text and illustrations, comparisons between books by the same authors as well as illustrators, comparisons between books with similar themes, and the weaknesses of the books. Providing thorough and accurate information, professionality to critical reviews, cultivation of arts expertise, and consistent management following the review standards of KSCL&E are needed for quality online reviews of children's books.
