정보그림책 만들기 활동이 유아의 설명적 텍스트 이해와 쓰기 발달에 미치는 영향

국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 정보그림책 만들기 활동이 유아의 설명적 텍스트 이해와 쓰기 발달에 미치는 영향을 살펴보는데 있다. 본 연구의 대상은 대구시에 소재한 유치원에 재원중인 만5세 유아 48명으로 실험집단은 25명, 비교집단은 23명으로 구성되었다. 실험집단의 유아들에게는 정보그림책 만들기 활동을 실시하였으며, 비교집단에게는 이야기그림책 만들기 활동을 실시하였다. 연구 결과 정보그림책 만들기를 실시한 실험집단 유아의 사후 설명적 텍스트 이해 점수와 사후 쓰기 점수가 비교집단 유아의 설명적 텍스트 사후 점수와 사후 쓰기 점수보다 통계적으로 유의미한 수준에서 더 높은 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 정보그림책 만들기 활동이 유아의 설명적 텍스트 이해와 쓰기 발달에 긍정적인 영향을 미쳤음을 알 수 있다. 본 연구 결과는 정보그림책 만들기 활동이 유아의 설명적 텍스트 이해와 쓰기발달을 돕는 효율적 교수방법임을 시사한다.

영문 초록

The objectives of this study were to develop an information book-making activity (IBA) and to examine its effects on children``s understanding of expository text and their writing development. A total of 48 five-year-old children attending D Kindergarten located in Dae-gu, South Korea were selected for this study. They were divided into experimental (25 children) and comparison (23 children) groups. Children in the experimental group were instructed to read information books on daily topics as provided in the Nuri curriculum for 5-year-olds and then create information books. In the comparative group, the children were instructed to read narrative picture books on daily topics as provided in the Nuri curriculum for five-year-olds and then make picture books as extension activities. The results suggest that IBA had a positive influence on the children’s understanding of expository text and writing competence. These results suggest that an information book-making activity is an effective instructional technique that can facilitate the development of young children’s understanding of expository text and writing competence.
