창의성과 제약간의 관계: 미술교육에 대한 시사점

국문 초록

본 연구에서는 창의성과 제약간의 관계에 대한 연구를 미술교육에 적용하여 그 효과를 분석하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 먼저 도식, 표면적 모습, 통합 모습, 개념적 관점 등 4단계로 된 제약 기반 미술교육 프로그램(constraint-based art education program)을 개발하고, 이를 교육대학교 재학생들의 나무 그리기 활동에 적용한 후 참여 학생들의 작품에 대한 질적 분석과 설문지 및 개별 면담 자료를 활용해서 프로그램의 효과를 분석하였다. 그 결과 제약 기반 미술교육 프로그램은 학생들이 특정 사물에 대한 고정관념에서 벗어나도록 하고, 그림 그리기에 대한 흥미 유발에 효과적인 것으로 나타났다. 또한 체계적인 제약은 의식적 관찰력을 향상시키고, 사물의 특징인 형태, 색, 질감, 양감 등을 그리는 과정에서 질적으로 우수한 표현을 가능하게 하였으며, 결국에는 특정 사물을 창의적으로 표현하도록 하는데 기여한 것으로 나타났다.

영문 초록

In this study, the research on the relationship between creativity and constraints was applied to art education and the effect was analyzed. To this end, first, we develop a constraint-based art education program consisting of four steps, including schematic, surface appearance, integrated appearance, and conceptual perspective, and apply it to the drawing activities of college students in Korea. The effectiveness of the program was analyzed using students’ works, survey and interview data. As a result, the constraint-based art education program was found to be effective in encouraging students to break free from stereotypes about specific objects and to arouse interest in drawing. In addition, systematic constraints improved conscious observation, enabled qualitatively excellent expression in the process of drawing the features of shape, color, texture, and volume, and ultimately contributed to creative expression of specific objects.
