고교생의 진로 역량 신장을 위한 프로그램으로서 ‘경기 꿈의 대학’의 성과와 개선 방안 탐색

국문 초록

경기 꿈의 대학은 경기도 소재 고등학교 재학생이 경기도교육청과 업무 협약을 맺은 대학 또는 기관에서 특별 개설한 강좌를 희망에 의해 선택하고 수강하는 체험중심 진로 역량 신장 프로그램이다. 본 연구는 국외의 선도적 진로교육 사례 및 경기 꿈의 대학의 도입배경과 운영 현황을 살펴보고, 경기 꿈의 대학을 수강한 학생으로부터 수집된 면담자료를 활용하여 경기 꿈의 대학의 성과와 한계를확인하고 개선 방안을 탐색하는 것을 목적으로 하였다. 연구결과, 학생들은 경기 꿈의 대학을 통해희망 진로 분야에 관한 지식 습득과 다양한 체험의 기회를 접할 수 있어 상당히 만족하였다. 또한 자신의 진로 결정에 관해 더 큰 확신을 가질 수 있었으며, 진로개발을 위한 인적 네트워크도 형성하였다. 그러나 느슨한 이수 기준으로 인해 중도탈락자가 많으며, 수업 간 질의 차이가 크고, 방과 후 외부 수업 수강에 대한 부담감이 존재하고 있었다. 따라서 경기 꿈의 대학이 더욱 발전적으로 운영되기위해서는 이수 기준을 강화하고, 수강 정정 기회를 제공하며, 수업의 질 관리를 철저하게 해야 한다. 이와 더불어 프로그램을 통해 학생의 진로개척은 물론 진로탐색에도 도움을 줄 수 있도록 해야 할 것이다.

영문 초록

Gyeonggi Dream Academy offers a career development program centering on hands-on experience for high school students residing in Gyeonggi Province who wish to take specialized courses at colleges or institutes that have signed an MOU with Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education. This study aimed to examine some leading examples of career education programs in other countries and investigate the beginning of the Gyeonggi Dream Academy and the current status of its operation. On the basis of interview data gathered from students, the study also aimed to identify the achievements and limitations of Gyeonggi Dream Academy and explore the strategies for improvement. The results showed that the students were greatly satisfied with Gyeonggi Dream Academy as they could acquire knowledge and hands-on-experience related to their desired career field. Through the program, they could build confidence in their career decision while forming human networks for career development. However, there were a large number of students who dropped out of the program because of its lenient criteria for completion. There was also discrepancy in the quality of courses while the participants felt burdened about having to take extra-curricular courses after regular school. Therefore, it is imperative for Gyeonggi Dream Academy to establish firm criteria for completion to promote effective operation, provide students with the opportunity to make changes in course selection, and manage the quality of courses more meticulously. The program should also be able to provide students with assistance in exploring careers.
