국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 제3국 출생 북한이탈주민 자녀들의 정서행동 문제에 대한 맥락적 이해를 통해이들을 위한 효과적인 개입전략을 탐색하고자 하는 것이다. 이를 위해 현재 정부산하 기관과 교육기관에서 제3국 출생 북한이탈주민 자녀와 이들의 부모인 북한이탈주민을 오랜 기간 동안 직접 만나서상담하고 교육하고 있는 상담 및 교육전문가들을 대상으로 면담을 실시하였다. 수집된 자료는 근거이론 접근 방식으로 분석하였으며, 그 결과 127개의 개념과, 44개의 하위범주, 23개의 범주가 도출되었다. 중심현상은 ‘또래관계로부터의 소외감과 고립감, 심리적 장애로 인한 내재화·외재화 증상, 현실도피를 위한 과몰입 행동, 독특한 이주배경으로 인한 정체성의 혼란, 학습부진 및 학교 부적응’으로 분석되었다. 인과적 조건은 ‘부모와의 분리로 인한 불안정 애착, 언어의 차이로 인한 의사소통의 어려움, 문화적 차이로 인한 적응의 어려움’이었고, 맥락적 조건은 ‘무국적으로 인한 학교 입학의 어려움, 제3 국 체류 시 열악한 성장 환경, 생활고를 겪는 부모 자신의 스트레스’로 나타났다. 중재적 조건은 ‘한국생활에 대한 동기와 목표의식 정도, 부모와의 상호작용 정도, 제3국에서의 교육정도 및 한국 입국 연령, 활용 가능한 지역 서비스에 대한 정보, 적응과 학업을 위한 경제적 지원 정도’였다. 작용/상호작용전략은 ‘제3국 커뮤니티에 집착하며 적응을 회피함, 다양한 원인에 기초한 일탈행동, 한국사회 적응시도, 관련 지원 기관에 적극적으로 도움 요청’으로 분석되었으며, 그 결과는 ‘한국 사회 정착, 적응실패 후 제3국으로 되돌아감, 돌아갈 곳도 없고 안정적 정착도 못한 상태’로 분석되었다. 이러한 제3 국 출생북한이탈주민 자녀의 정서행동문제에 대한 맥락적 이해를 바탕으로 이들을 위한 효과적 개입전략 및 시사점을 도출하였다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to explore effective intervention strategies for North Korean children born in third countries based on contextual understanding of their emotional-behavioral problems. For this purpose, interviews with experts at government and educational institutions were held in order to investigate their experience with children of North Korean defectors born in third countries and their parents. The collected data were analyzed Grounded Theory, resulting in 127 concepts, 44 subcategories and 23 categories. The central phenomenon was analyzed as “the sense of alienation and isolation from peer relationships, internalizated and externalized symptoms due to psychological disorders, excessive immersion of game and smartphone addiction, confusion of identity due to unique migration background, poor learning and inadequate school performance”. Causal conditions were “unstable attachment due to separation from parents, difficulty in communicating due to language differences, difficulty in adapting due to cultural differences”, and contextual conditions were “difficulty school adjustment due to lack of prior school experience, poor growth environment when staying in a third country, and stress of parents own living difficulties”. Intervening conditions were “the degree of motivation and sense of goals for Korean life, the degree of interaction with parents, the quality of education in a third country and the age of Korean entry, information on available regional services, and the degree of financial support for adaptation and study”. The action/interaction strategy was analyzed as “avoiding adaptation by sticking to the third countries community, deviant behavior based on various causes, attempts to adapt to Korean society, and actively requesting help from related support organizations” and the result was “Korea s social settlement, returning to the third Country after failure to adaptation, and unstable status having no place to go back”. Based on a contextual understanding of the emotional-behavior problems of children of North Korean defectors born in the third country, effective intervention strategies and implications were suggested.
