국문 초록

본 연구는 장애아통합어린이집 원장이 인식하는 장애유아의 초등학교 전이 지원과 그에 대한 지원 요구를 분석하여, 효과적인 전이 지원 방안을 모색하는 데 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 장애유아 전이 지원 경력이 3년 이상인 원장 7명을 대상으로 반구조화된 질문지를 활용한 심층 면담을 실시하였으며, 연속적 비교법을 적용하여 4개의 상위범주, 11개의 하위범주, 35개의 개념을 도출하였다. 연구 결과, 첫째, 장애유아의 성공적인 초등학교 전이를 위해서는 개별화되고 체계적인 지원, 그리고 학교·가정·지역사회의 긴밀한 협력이 중요한 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 전이 지원 과정에서 부모의 참여가 필수적이지만, 다양한 어려움에 직면하고 있어 이를 해결하기 위한 실질적인 지원이 요구되었다. 셋째, 원장은 전이 지원 과정에서 조정자 역할을 수행하며 성공적인 지원을 위해 현장 역량 강화, 교사 확보 및 인건비 안정, 제도 개선 등이 필요함이 확인되었다. 넷째, 효과적인 전이 지원을 위해서는 구체적이고 안정적인 지원 체계 구축과 현장 인력의 전문성 제고가 중요한 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과는 장애유아의 초등학교 전이 지원의 실효성 제고를 위해 개별화된 지원, 부모의 참여와 현장 인력의 역량 강화, 제도적·구조적 지원 체계 마련이 필요함을 시사한다. 본 연구는 장애유아의 원활한 초등학교 전이를 위한 정책 및 실천 방안 마련에 기초자료로 활용될 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

영문 초록

This study aims to analyze the perceptions of directors at inclusive childcare centers regarding transition support for young children with disabilities entering elementary school, as well as their support needs, in order to explore effective strategies for facilitating this transition. To achieve this, in-depth interviews were conducted with seven directors who had at least three years of experience in transition support for young children with disabilities, using a semi-structured questionnaire. Using constant comparative analysis, four main categories, 11 subcategories, and 35 concepts were identified. The findings of the study are as follows. First, successful transition to elementary school for young children with disabilities requires individualized support, systematic assistance, and close collaboration among schools, families, and local communities. Second, although parental involvement is essential in the transition process, parents encounter various challenges, highlighting the need for practical and targeted support. Third, directors play a coordinating role in the transition process, and effective support requires strengthening field capacity, securing qualified teachers, ensuring stable personnel costs, and improving relevant systems. Fourth, the establishment of a concrete and stable support system and enhancement of the expertise of field personnel were found to be crucial for effective transition support. These findings suggest that enhancing the effectiveness of transition support for young children with disabilities requires individualized assistance, capacity building for both parents and field personnel, and the establishment of institutional and structural support systems. This study is expected to serve as foundational data for the development of policies and practical strategies to ensure a smooth transition to elementary school for young children with disabilities.
