국문 초록

본 연구는 사회복지전공 대학생의 문화적 역량의 수준을 살펴보고 문화적역량에 영향을 미치는 공감능력, 다문화 수용성의 영향력을 검증하고 이들 요인의 인과관계를 파악함으로써 사회복지전공 대학생의 문화적 역량을 증진시킬 수 있는 교육프로그램 마련을 위한 기초자료를 제공하고자 하는 데 그 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 대구·경북지역 6개 4년제 대학교 1, 2, 3, 4학년 237명의 데이터를 최종분석에 사용하였으며, 수집된 자료는 SPSS 21.0과 AMOS 21.0을 이용하여 분석을 실시하였다. 그에 따른 주요 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 공감능력은 다문화 수용성과 문화적 역량에 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 다문화 수용성은 문화적 역량에 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 공감능력과 문화적 역량의 관계에서 다문화 수용성은 통계적으로 유의한 매개효과를 가지는 것으로 확인되었다. 이러한 연구결과를 중심으로 사회복지전공 대학생의 문화적 역량 증진을 위한 교육프로그램 마련 방안에 대하여 시사점을 논의하였으며, 본 연구의 제한점을 기반으로 후속연구를 제안하였다.

영문 초록

This study aims to examine the level of cultural competence among university students majoring in social work, to verify the influence of empathy and multicultural acceptance on cultural competence, and to identify the causal relationships among these variables. The ultimate goal is to provide foundational data for the development of educational programs that can enhance the cultural competence of social work majors. For this purpose, data from 237 freshman, sophomore, junior, and senior students enrolled in six four-year universities located in the Daegu and Gyeongbuk regions were used for the final analysis. The collected data were analyzed using SPSS 21.0 and AMOS 21.0. The main findings are as follows. First, empathy was found to have a significant effect on both multicultural acceptance and cultural competence. Second, multicultural acceptance showed a significant influence on cultural competence. Third, multicultural acceptance was confirmed to have a statistically significant mediating effect on the relationship between empathy and cultural competence. Based on these findings, the study discusses implications for designing educational programs aimed at strengthening the cultural competence of social work students. Additionally, directions for future research are proposed in light of the study’s limitations.
