국문 초록

본 연구는 디지털 전환 시대에 요구되는 핵심역량인 디지털 리터러시에 대해 공학계열 대학생을 대상으로 인식 수준과 교육 요구도를 분석하고, 이를 기반으로 교육 방향을 제안하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 이를 위해 K대학교 공학계열 재학생 596명을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였으며, 디지털 리터러시의 4개 내용요소 및 하위요소에 대한 중요도와 자기수준을 측정하고, Borich 요구도 분석과 TLfF 모델을 활용하여 교육요구도를 도출하였다. 연구 결과, 공학계열 학생들의 디지털 리터러시 인식 수준은 전반적으로 낮은 편이며, 특히 기술적 이해와 활용 역량에 대한 자신감이 부족한 것으로 나타났다. 교육요구도 분석에서는 디지털 사고능력과 정보관리, 비판적 사고력, 문제해결 역량에 대한 요구도가 높은 것으로 분석되었다. 이러한 결과는 단순한 기술 교육을 넘어, 비판적 사고력, 정보 윤리, 디지털 시민성 등을 포함하는 포괄적이고 실천 중심의 교육과정 설계가 필요함을 시사한다.

영문 초록

This study aims to analyze engineering students’ perception and educational needs related to digital literacy—an essential competency in the era of digital transformation—and to propose educational directions based on the study’s findings. The researchers conducted a survey with 596 engineering students at K University. The survey assessed the perceived importance of and self-assessed proficiency in digital literacy across four components and their sub-components. The Borich Needs Assessment Model and the Locus for Focus (TLfF) Model were used to derive educational priorities. The results show that students generally have a low level of digital literacy awareness. In particular, they lack confidence in technical understanding and application. The data indicate high educational needs in digital thinking skills, information management, critical thinking, and problem-solving. These findings suggest the need for a comprehensive and practice-oriented curriculum for engineering students that goes beyond technical training to include critical thinking, information ethics, and digital citizenship.
