루시안 프로이드(Lucian Freud) 회화의 사실성과 육체성 - 미술대학 인체 표현 교육에의 함의

국문 초록

루시안 프로이드(Lucian Freud)는 인체를 이상적인 아름다움의 형태로 묘사하기보다는 피부의 주름, 처짐, 무게감 등의 물질성을 사실적으로 표현하여 인간의내면과 실존적 상태를 드러낸다. 또한 물감을 두텁게 사용하여 회화 자체가 살덩이로보이도록 하는 기법을 사용하였으며, 인물들의 불안, 고독, 불완전함을 표현하여심리적 긴장감을 불러일으키고, 해체와 왜곡을 통해 존재를 탐구한다. 한편, 미술대학의 인체 표현 교육은 정확한 외형 묘사에 초점이 맞춰져 있는데 이는 인체를사실적으로 재현하는데 초점이 맞춰져 있다. 본 연구는 기존 실기 수업 방식의 한계를성찰하고, 프로이드 인물화에 나타나는 응시, 물질성, 해체와 왜곡을 활용한 미술대학의 인체 표현 실기 수업 방안을 제시한다.

영문 초록

Lucian Freud, rather than depicting the human body as an ideal form of beauty, realistically expressed the materiality of the skin, such as wrinkles, sagging, and heaviness, to reveal the inner self and existential state of humans. He also used a technique of using paint thickly to make the painting itself look like flesh, and expressed the anxiety, loneliness, and imperfection of the figures to create psychological tension, and explored existence through deconstruction and distortion. Meanwhile, human body expression education in art colleges focuses on accurate external depiction, which focuses on realistically reproducing the human body. This study reflects on the limitations of existing practical classes and suggests a plan for human body expression practical classes in art colleges that utilizes the gaze, materiality, deconstruction, and distortion that appear in Freud’s portraits.
