국문 초록

본 연구는 통계교육의 빅 아이디어인 ‘분포’에 주목하여, 예비수학교사가 상자그림을 활용하여 집단의 분포를 비교하는 협력적 논의 과정에서 분포의 핵심 요소 간 의미를 어떻게 연결짓는지를 분석함으로써 통계교육을 위한 예비교사 교육에의 시사점을 도출하고자 하였다. 먼저, 선행 연구를 바탕으로 중심, 퍼짐, 모양을 분포의 핵심 요소로 설정하고, 예비수학교사의 이해 수준을 조사한 뒤 서로 다른 이해 수준을 가진 구성원으로 이루어진 소집단을 구성하였다. 이후 각 모둠별로 수업 설계에 관한 협력적 논의를 진행하였으며, 그 과정에서 드러난 분포의 핵심 요소 간의 연결 양상을 분석하였다. 연구 결과, 분포의 요소 간 연결이 활발히 이루어진 모둠은 이해 수준이 심화된 반면, 요소 간 연결이 제한적이었던 모둠은 이해의 발달 또한 제한적이었다. 이러한 연구 결과를 바탕으로 얻어진 예비교사의 통계교육에 관한 시사점을 제시하였다.

영문 초록

This study focused on distribution, which is emphasized as a big idea in statistics education, and aimed to draw implications for pre-service teacher education in statistics by analyzing how pre-service mathematics teachers connected meanings among the key elements of distribution during a collaborative discussion process in which they designed a lesson comparing group distributions using box plots. First, based on prior research, center, spread, and shape were set as the key elements of distribution, and after investigating the level of understanding of the pre-service teachers, small groups were formed with members of different levels of understanding. Then, each group engaged in collaborative discussions on lesson design, and the patterns of connection among the key elements of distribution revealed in the process were analyzed. As a result, the group in which the elements of distribution were actively connected showed a deepened level of understanding, while the group with limited connections among the elements also showed limited development in understanding. Based on these findings, the study presented implications for statistics education for pre-service teachers.
