국문 초록

배경 및 목적: 한국 취학전 아동의 단어 읽기, 단어 쓰기 능력에 대한 계층적 관계 모델을 확인하였다. 언어일반집단과 언어지연집단에서 작업기억, 의미, 철자, 음운 능력과 단어 읽기, 쓰기 능력 간 직간접적 패턴의 차이를 살펴보았다. 방법: 본 연구에서는 유치원 만 5세반에 재원 중인 155명 아동을 언어지연집단 80명과 언어일반집단 75명으로 분류하였다. 집단에 따라 단어 읽기, 단어 쓰기에 대한 계층적 연구모델을 검증하고자 구조방정식 모델링을 실시하였다. 모델적합도는 CFI, TLI, RMSEA, SRMR, χ2/df 지표를 통해 평가하였다. 결과: 본 연구에서 제안한 네 가지 모델 중 모델적합도가 가장 좋은 값을 보인 모델을 최종 모델로 선정하였다. 두 집단 모두 작업기억이단어 읽기와 단어 쓰기에 간접적으로 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 언어일반집단은 의미, 철자, 음운 능력이, 언어지연집단은 철자능력만이 단어 읽기와 단어 쓰기에 직접적 영향을 주는 것으로 확인되었다. 논의 및 결론: 본 연구는 한국 유치원 만 5세반 아동을 대상으로 계층적 단어 읽기 및 단어 쓰기 관계 모델을 제안함으로써 초기 문해 발달과 관련 변인에 대한 근거를 마련하였다. 또한 언어지연 유무에 따라 집단을 나누어 단어 읽기 및 단어 쓰기를 설명하는 직간접적 변인을 살펴보았다는 것에 의의가 있다.

영문 초록

Objectives: The aim of this study was to propose a hierarchical relation model for word reading and word writing abilities in Korean preschool children. This study examined the direct and indirect influences of working memory, semantic, orthographic, and phonological abilities on word reading and word writing in children with and without language delay. Methods: The study included 155 children aged 5 years in kindergarten, classified into two groups; 80 children with language delay (LD) and 75 children with typical development (TD). Structural equation modeling (SEM) was conducted to test four alternative models for each group. Model fit was evaluated using CFI, TLI, RMSEA, SRMR, and χ²/df in dices. Results: Among the four alternative models, the one with the best fit indices was se lected as the final model. In the TD group, semantics, orthographic, and phonological abili ties directly influenced word reading and word writing, whereas in the LD group, only or thographic abilities showed a direct influence. In both groups, working memory indirectly influenced word reading and word writing. Conclusion: This study proposed a hierarchical relation model of word reading and word writing for Korean preschool children aged 5 years, providing evidence on early literacy development and related factors. In addition, this study was significant in identifying the direct and indirect patterns influencing word reading and word writing by comparing children with and without language delay.
