국문 초록

이 연구는 생태언어학을 기반으로 언어문화교육의 내용을 재개념화하는 방향을 모색하는 것이 목적이다. 이는 언어와 환경의 역동적인 관계성을 화두로 삼은, 생태언어학과 언어문화교육의 학제 간 연구를 통해 언어문화교육 내용의 체계화를 시도한다는 데 의의가 있다. 언어 문화교육의 내용이 언어와 문화의 역동적 상호성에 기대어 정련해야 한다는 점과 생태학의 관점이 언어교육에서 인간, 언어, 환경의 관계성을 지향하는 내용론으로 구체화되어야 한다는 점은 이 연구의 필요성이자 출발점이었다. 이를 전제로 언어문화교육과 생태언어학의 관련성을 확인하였다. 그것은 ‘언어와 환경’의 관계에 대한 테제를 주요 내용으로 다루고 있으며, 특히 생태언어학이 기반이 되어 언어문화교육의 내용을 보완하거나 생성할 수 있다는 점이었다. 이를 바탕으로 이 연구는 언어문화교육의 내용을 검토할 수 있는 생태언어학적 분석틀을 구안하였다. 구체적으로 언어문화 자질을 지닌 언어교육의 내용 요소를 생태언어학의 내용 요소에 비추어 재개념화하는 과정을 명시하고 그 예를 제시해 보았다.

영문 초록

This study aims at finding a way of reconceptualizing the content of language-culture education based on ecolinguistics. Its significance lies in its attempt to try to systematize the content of language-culture education through interdisciplinary research into ecolinguistics and language-culture education, which both involve dynamic relationships between language and environments. The following facts are essential to and the starting point of this study: firstly, language-culture educational content needs to be refined by the dynamic reciprocity of language and culture, and secondly ecological perspectives have to be present in theoretical content, oriented towards a relationship among humans, language, and environments in language education. On the basis of these facts, this study confirms the relevance of language-culture education and ecolinguistics. These two fields of study deal with themes concerning the relationships between “language and environments”, and in particular with the question of how language-culture educational contents could be supplied or created by ecolinguistics research categories. This study provides an ecolinguistic analytical frame for examining the content of language-culture education. In concrete terms, a process of reconceptualizing the elements of language educational content, and these elements contain language-culture features based on ecolinguistics research elements. Examples are then suggested and the process outlined.
